THOUGH SHE BE BUT LITTLE, SHE BE FIERCE!
' Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination. '
- Oscar Wilde
Let's see. My name is Jennifer, I'm 17, and live in Connecticut. In the fall I will be attending Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. My life consists of two things: writing, and horses. I have one horse of my own, a 1988 BLM mustang mare (yes, we're the same age! Isn't that ironic, that we are both autumn-born, and some sixteen years later, our lives joined?) who's known informally as Mustang Sally, but is registered with AMBA (American Mustang and Burro Association) as Wilde At Heart. I named her after Oscar Wilde, the champion of my aesthetic sensibilities. As for writing, I have been doing so ever since second grade, when I first realized that stories could be invented, and not just read. Since then I have become a devoted writer (and reader, one must never stop reading) of historical fiction. My very favorite periods, if you haven't guessed, are the Elizabethan, Georgian and Victorian times.
What else. Oh! How about a list of my favorite novels. As previously remarked, one should be punished for not reading. (These are not listed in any particular order.)
* As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann
* The Blithedale Romance by Nathaniel Hawthorne
* The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
* Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
* The Crimson Petal and the White by Michel Faber
* Cry to Heaven by Anne Rice
* Slammerkin by Emma Donoghue
* Ingenious Pain by Andrew Miller
* The Vampire Chronicals series by Anne Rice
