I believe our friend is a man this time... alanschwerin.  There's about 7 or 8 entries all posted today that make no sense.  "You murdered me" and stuff like that.  Strange thing is she actually visited my blog, which she usually doesn't do....

 

In other news, how the heck are you?  We haven't talked in awhile and I miss my big sis!  I know you're on the road now, but we should catch up when you're back.

I'll leave the comment here so you can delete it.  I sympathize with your feelings about reenlisting. It is very tough for him to turn it down. They use professionals in coordination with his commanding officer and the pressure is relentless.  They appeal to his honor and pride and tell him "his" men, everyone is looking to "him". And that the "elite" are the ones who are accepted for pre-approved training. His "skills". 

 

I served for many years, had specialized training and continued to advance. Being wounded suddenly cut everything short. And I was newly married at that time and found something to keep me home. He is probably single without a steady girl to plan  a future with.

 

I don't have any advice as to what to do. Probably, most likely, there is nothing to do. He'll need someone close close close when the reality does kick in and it will when he realizes he's beginning again, not finishing.  Just thought you'd like to know from someone who had their first combat command at 19, and then went back when she left me. Not to kill, but to put myself in harms way, and to send the guys like your nephew home to their girls.

 

P.S.  Her birthday was 12/19.  She says 29, but it was her 40. She's as beautiful as 29 though. Do you still hear from her?

 

Merry Christmas. Good luck with your nephew. Chances are he'll rise to the occassion and use his training and common sense to come home. Find him a girl that he can see a future.
