OH MY STARS! Jon Stewart is going to have Common on tonight! How dare he invite that Commie, cop-hating, gangster, thug rapper!
Ha. I've never heard that sentiment, but I can only imagine! Must be tough; I've never had the thought, "F women," not once, but I've heard "F men" from women, of course. Hope things are okay. You can add me on FB if you'd like -- http://facebook.com/schencka1.
Gay I am not; ally I am! My former wife worked at Wingspan, Tucson's LGBTQ community center, so we were very involved in all things LGBT. One of our friends there did imagine me to be "STR8" (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Str8) because I'm really into hygiene and working out and looking decent in clothes, but he was a hopeless dreamer. I like girls that are stacked, and I bet that's gross to you!
Okay, talk later, buddy.
Hello there sir! I saw this article on NPR's website, and since I remember you're an occasional baller as well as a fan of literature, I thought you would enjoy this article about Cornell vs. Kentucky. I'm hoping you enjoy the NCAA & March Madness. Here's an excerpt:
"Our passion buckets are gonna be filled to the brim tomorrow," [Cornell shooter Ryan Wittman] said at a recent news conference.
Passion buckets? It's actually an insider's phrase known to listeners of Dan Patrick's syndicated radio show. Confounding the media with statements of veiled origin has become a specialty of this Cornell team. Last week, point guard Louis Dale seemed to provide perspective beyond his years.
"We got eight seniors on this team and we want to take this ride as long as we can, because after this it's nothing but babies and memories, so we want to just keep going," Dale said.
Dale didn't acknowledge at the time that "babies and memories" was borrowed from the book and movie Friday Night Lights.
By the way, [The Elements Of Style author & Cornell alum William] Strunk says:
Proverbial expressions and familiar phrases of literary origin require no quotation marks.
All right, well, hope you enjoy!
Sometimes they can be a bit iffy though. One of their contributors wrote an article a few days ago about how "white people loot too", adorned with a photo of quake-stricken Chileans salvaging what they could. Ehhh..
I should probably clarify, hah! Sorry about that. I do frequent the site, and they post some interesting things, but I have learned to sift through some of the, pardon my French, B.S. on that site. Pretty much like any other site too! I pick & choose. I don't think I've ever really been devoted 100% to any writers.
