I like what you're doing here. I'd like to put a link to your page from mine. Is that alright with you?
Do you remember when we had that best quarterback discussion a few weeks ago? I must make a correction. As much as I hate to say it, Tom Brady looks like the best QB I've ever seen. The dude is on fire!!!!
Think CB Longs would be relatively safe for firing in the lower floor of a bank barn for pest control? We've been visited by critters that laugh at my birdshot, and I really don't want to go firing regular LR rounds in a stone box with a concrete floor. I have a Savage Arms 64F (semiauto) and I'm not sure it'll be happy with CB Shorts.
Also, have you ever heard of loading popcorn in shotgun shells for taking birds indoors?

I doubt the Savage will like the CB's, most semi-auto's only like the LR's. It'll be a single-shot, manual load proposition. If you're going that route, you might as well go with Aguila Super Colibri's No powder, just the primer. They are recommended for pistols only, but function in many rifles - you just have to make sure of no jams! More advice can be gained at www.rimfirecentral.com . I've only shot one so far - in my garage at a damned tree rat - no cops showed up, so I was satisfied with the results.

I haven't put a load of rounds through this rifle yet, so I find myself having to extract Federal birdshot with my knife. Makes it like varmint hunting with a muzzle loader in the chicken coop. Fire at the rat, safety on, open action, drop the magazine out(the open birdshot shell won't come out the side because it's longer than a regular casing), pry out the round, replace magazine, charge weapon, safety off, hope the rat didn't hobble back to cover. I still managed to tag one twice, and I eventually found the sucker with a bunch of spots of missing fur where he'd healed over.
Popcorn for birds?? Weird - never heard of using it. You can buy #12 shot 12 Ga shells... it's like powder. I think www.cheaperthandirt,com had it.
Some local Mennonites were talking about it for inside barns and such.
#12 is almost like a breaching round SWAT teams use to open locked doors, ain't it?
