I would like to join this challenge.  What must I do?

Thank you for your interest.  We're taking the month of June to do a little revamping of the site.  The next challenge will begin in July.  Add us as a friend, and you'll get notice of any public notices we put out.  (arts4peace)

Hey, I'm a friend of PoetryChallenge and it says that they list me as a friend as well, yet I can't view any of the pages....it says "PoetryChallenge has not made any blog entries." What's up with that? If you're going to keep or hide things from me then why did you put me in the network in the first place? I want to be able to see this blog. 

I don't actually know why Sherry put you in the blog, because the poets participating are in a different category...you are an online contact...and are the only ones who can view the poetry unless we individually put our poetry on our own blogs.  I do that, so you have seen mine...look at the list of people on the list and add them, then maybe you will be able to see.  I have actually always wondered why we do add others, except that they voiced an interest in writing when the challenge starts, but when they do not end up participating, or go twice in a row without writing, without giving a valid excuse, they are cut out.  Perhaps this is so we can comment on one another's poetry without fear of other people seeing, and then when the poem is polished, we can put in in our private blogs. 

 

Hope that has helped you somewhat.  Why not start writing with us and you will then be a part of the network and will be able to read all of the poetry.

I want to participate but I was never told how to do so!!!

We will be starting a new challenge here soon.  This one will be quite different.  We will be writing one poem per week, on a specific topic, and it will be written in a particular style of poetry which will be explained.  Are you interested?  This challenge will last for as many weeks as we have participants.  The goal is 8.  Right now we have 5.

I'm definitely interested...like I said, I just got out of the hospital so I'm a little behind. Just tell me what I need to do and I'll do it. 

Okay.  Now we have 6.  Trying to start with 8.

Do I need to submit a poem?

not yet...not 'til we officially start the next challenge.  For that challenge you will be writing new poems each week, on the topic posted, and in a specific style of poetry, which will be described.

Dawn - we're going to be starting a new challenge, which will require one poem per week, to be written in a particular style of poetry, which will be explained at the beginning of a week.  We'll probably stick with the same style for at least two weeks, then choose another.  Are you interested?  It will probably last as many weeks as we have participants, and right now that number is 5.  I'd like to get it to 6 or 8 before we start.

this seems really interesting and fun.

Emily - you were listed as a "co-worker" when this last challenge began, and you were sent a password.  Because you did not post any poetry responses to the first two topics, you were removed from that status.  The password changes each time we drop someone from a challenge.

 

We'll be taking a summer break here for most of June, and then starting the next challenge around July 1.  At that time there will be another open invitation to anyone who chooses to join.  We have strict guidelines, though, and when someone does not follow them, they are dropped from that particular challenge.  I hope you will join us soon.  Look for us to start a new challenge in July.  Thank you for your interest.
