Re: Phsbum's Wiki Page
all is well. I'm at my new company. My unit deploys to Kuwait in November. Will be there for a year.  Not too worried about it though.

I'm engaged...not rushing into the whole marriage thing quite yet though. I wanna wait until I'm out of the Army...

Other than that, nothing else to say.

Congrats on the engagement.  My husband just learned he's going to Iraq next year and he's now stop-loss. Smiley

Re: Phsbum's Wiki Page
It's not a matter of WHERE he's going... it's the fact that he IS going when he was supposed to be done his term in April.  But now, they are forcing him to stay in, and not letting him out because the deployment starts before and ends after his term ends.  We've been married 6 years now, and spent a total of MAYBE 3 of it together because of deployments.  We are both done with it and the only thing that would resolve it was getting out, now he can't even do that.

My husband is in the Army, and he has served in the Navy for 8 yrs before that.  I served 4 yrs in the Navy, and I know EXACTLY what you are going through.  I too signed on to the military force at 18, but I wouldn't change it for the world.  I learned MANY things in the military, of which I still use to this day (even being just a mom of 3 kids- *wink* push-ups are a great alternative to spanking!).  Glad to hear that you are able to make it home for Christmas!  My husband and I will be making a long road trip to see his family for Christmas.  He just got home from South Korea back in September.

Do you know where you will be going after AIT?  What MOS are you?  Do you like the MOS you chose, or do you wish you could have a different one?  So far, what has been the happiest and saddest moments that you have encountered in the Army?  Oh here I am asking 10 million questions when you should be enjoying your Christmas with your family....GO HAVE FUN!!!

Re: Phsbum's Wiki Page
My 3 Drill Sergeants all had stories about Korea! They had some fun there. Guess I wouldn't mind being stationed over there.

I do not know where I'm going after AIT. I should know when I get back to the base. My MOS is a 42a which is a human resources specialist. It's easy but boring. Lots of paperwork. The first two hours of class I fight to stay awake.  I would have liked to be an MP, but I suppose I could have picked a worse MOS than a human resources specialist. Happiest moment...either graduation or family day. I can't choose.  Saddest moment, probably leaving all my friends from basic. I had some good buddies.

I don't mind the questions, I am used to it.

You have a good and safe holiday!

Way to go kid! You should be very proud of what you are doing. I know that your mother is. I also sense the aniety she feels, as my oldest son wants to attend the naval academy next year...has since 6th grade and has not flinched since.I wish you the best of luck. Please be safe.

Re: Phsbum's Wiki Page
Joining the Army is something I've wanted to do since I was 12. That is something that I constantly needed to remind myself of as I was going through basic training(graduated yesterday) It gets hard and sometimes I regret signing up, but graduating basic training was the best feeling I've ever had. The first time I had something to be proud of myself for.

Now I have 10 more weeks of training. OH MAN!!! But it should be easier since I'll get to talk to my mom and I'll get to go home in 3 weeks for christmas and stay home for 16 days. That is whats gonna get me through the next three weeks.

Thank you! I really appreciate it!
