In my 50 years I have lived much, read much and learned much. Everyword I have absorbed has helped form my opinions and beliefs. From the bible to philosophers, from politicans and preachers, from friends , neighbors and family I have gleaned something from each.
Life is a journey and we are each on our own. Nobodys path is the exact same , though your paths may sometimes cross."Normal" is what is "normal for you" and when it comes right down to it, no ones opinion matters except yours for you are the one who must live with the consequences of your choices although those choices will effect others as well.
Find your happiness and guard it carefully for it is your greatest treasure. Sometimes the beauty of the gift is found beneath it's wrapping so look carefully.
We are all part of humanity and making this world a better place is the responsibility of each of us. For every action there is a reaction so chose your actions carefully. Stick and stones may break your bones and bones can heal. But words can cut to the core and may never be taken back. They travel on through time and space and never die.Words can uplift a friend or break a friendship in two. The pen is truly mightier than the sword so chose your words carefully also. Plant those things you wish to grow and reap. Up root those things which "choke and destroy".
Forgive those who truly seek forgivness. Love those who seek love. Befriend those who seek honest frienship. Help those who truly need help. Listen to those who need an ear. Understand those who need understanding. Catch those who are falling down. Comfort those who need comfort.
There is on theme I have found which is universal amongst religions, philosophers, wise men and seekers. It is worded a little different from culture to culture but the message is the same.
"Treat others as you would like to be treated".

It's been a very busy summer. I've been rebuilding one of my koi ponds, playing with the grand kids, canoeing, hiking, and training for a MS 160 mile bike ride. Well , that was until a week ago when my sciatica flared and I have been unable to sit on the bike or at the computer due to pain.
How are you?Hope all is well with you!
I'll be one the computer more in the winter. Spring , summer and fall I'm outdoors most of the time.
Sincerely, David
Peace. J.
I live in SW Missouri on 5 acres (which I maintain by myself because my husband works all the time...another thing we have in common). My mom I told you about lives about 35 miles away so I have a long drive trying to do all the things for her she can't do.
My "escape" is walking, hiking and cycling. I love the outdoors!
I saw you have animals. I have 2 dogs April and Gabby and 2 ponds full of goldfish and koi. They keep me company while John is on the road ( he works out of town most weeks). My daughter in law (aka mindsay omgwtf) and I sometimes talk for hours on the phone when we're both bored.
When you need an ear or a shoulder I am here.Remember...it's ok. I totally understand wanting to be someone else for a while. Sometimes being me sucks.
I am really glad I live under the same roof as my mom .... it does make it easier .... she was 8 hours away before we sold our home packed up and moved here to help her out. Her health was very poor then, but now she is healthier than either of us, for sure .... lol .... she will probably outlive me.
I live to be outdoors .... we spend our summers on the So. Fork of the Salmon river, mining .... literally move there .... will be happening soon .... we come out a couple days a week to check on things ... have a friend check on mom .... if trouble happens they know how to find us as we are very remote with nothing available to us as far as communication.
We have three dogs .... Petey, Joe and Lola .... two llamas .... Maddy & Mocha ..... two cats .... Curly and Chevy .... and a pond full of goldfish ..... Mr. T .... the turtle ..... and more water snakes then I care to think about ... lol ... that are not really pets .... but they love the goldfish ....
Your daughter in law was in my Harley network ..... I truly adore her .... she is an amazing artist.
Thank you so much for the shoulder and the ear .... I lost sight of myself for awhile .... but things are starting to chill out in my head a bit now .... being me really did suck for a bit .... I reached for any kind of an escape. With summer and the river within reach ..... my mental health will return too. Just need a good game plan for next winter ..... keep me out of trouble .... lol Winter and I have never gotten along to well.
Peace. J.
Mining sounds very adventurous!Find much gold? I imagine it's very exciting when you do!
I get bored in winter also. I manage to stay very busy in the spring, summer and fall but have too much time on my hands in the winter.
Winters I eat too much and stay on the computer too much. As you know I am political and non religious so I can get into some debates that keep me occupied for days! But I'm not crafty. Lilli has tried to get me into art but sitting still I loose interest quickly.
I have 11 grand kids and 2 great grand kids, but kids get on my nerves quickly too!LOLL!
So who will take care of your critters while you mine?Do you have kids?
My name is Becky but so not to get confused with the over religious and annoying Becky on mindsay I go by my nickname Zip!
hugs
Your winters sound like mine ... lmao .... I do fine till the cold sets in .... then it is over. I am a liberal as far as my politics go ..... and I too am very non religious ..... I was raised in a very religious family and my mother is still .... we have our issues in that department ..... I am not artistic either .... I have tried and my husband, Dave, always laughs and calls it kindergarten art .... lol .... I keep hoping to graduate to first grade .... but it just does not happen. I do knit hats for babys in hospitals ..... and volunteer at my mothers senior center when needed ....
Dave is 12 years older than I .... I have no kids of my own, but have three step-kids .... the oldest 7 years younger than I. We have six grandchildren ..... only one that we actually ever see. She is 21 and will be having her wedding reception this weekend. She got married in November, without fanfare. So, actually we will be seeing all the grandkids, one for the first time. The friend that looks out for mom also takes care of the critters and garden in exchange for all the fresh veggies they want, strawberries, raspberries and eggs. And, llama poop. Can't forget the llama poop. lol
I am so grateful you are not the annoying Becky .... she does not like me ..... I do not like her. And I love the name Zip! All my friends call me Jules ...... so feel free.
(((hugs)))
Peace. J.
Now what does one do with llama poop? Is it fantastic fertilizer?
I like music and play the guitar and piano some. I like writing songs and poems and articles to stir things up on mindsay!
Well, it's time to go take a long walk before it rains. We have had a ton of rain this year, I'm beginning to grow fins!
Have a great day!
hugs back at cha!

Our lives do sound very alike ... if you have not met cllecr she is another wonderful person here. She does not come around too much anymore .... but is one interesting lady. Just thought of her while reading your reply .... another a lot like us ... lol
I love music, too ... played piano as a kid for 12 years .... have not played in ages .... Dave plays guitar .... it is a wonderful outlet .... I am usually surrounded with music at all times. I love the way you stir the shit, girl ... lmao .... I have read a lot of your discussions. I love your bluntness and passion.
We have been having truly wonderful weather ..... hope it stays this way. The garden is growing quickly .... love this time of year ....
Llama poop is the best fertilizer next to bat guano ..... you can plant seeds directly in the poop .. no burning .... we compost everything .... and make our own dirt/fertilizer. We sell the llama poop or barter .... which I always prefer.
I hope you have a wonderful day as well! Enjoy that walk .... I have a list of things I need to get done .... and the first on the list is getting off my ass. lol
Peace. J.
I haven't met cllecr but if she's anything like us , she is good people!LOLL! Seems like I spend my time stirring the pot! I especially like to stir up the "self righteous" Christians.
Rabbit poop is good too!
Hope you have a great day. Mine will be busy. I mowed all day yesterday and need to run the weed eater today. We're also building a canopy by the koi pond so I need to prime and paint the frame work. We always have a big family fourth of July party and I want it all done by then.
Have a great day...catch cha later! Pet those llamas for me
Zip
You can stir up that Christian pot anytime you like .... they annoy me ....
You take care of yourself .... take a breather now and then! I will definitely pet the llamas for ya!
Oh, yeah, we love the rabbit poop, too. lol
Peace. J.
