ancient Roman equivalent of Eos, the ancient Greek goddess of the dawn. Aurora is the Latin word for dawn.
Aurora renews herself every morning at dawn and flies across the sky, announcing the morning's arrival. Her siblings consist of a brother (the sun), and a sister (the moon). She also has many husbands and four sons, one for each cardinal direction: North, East, South, and West.
Aurora is comparable to Eos in Greek mythology and to Ushas in Hindu mythology.
One of her lovers was Tithonus. Aurora asked Zeus to grant immortality to Tithonus. However, she failed to ask him for eternal youth. As a result, Tithonus ended up aging eternally.

Noelle... Ray says that you are having trouble blogging... maybe you can do it under another name... like Ray did & start a new page... good luck... hope it works out... miss your blogs as I am sure alot of us do.
I am going to, they don't seem to be able to fix this. The advice was to delete my blog and then restore it. I can only imagine that I would screw that up and lose everything forever! So better to leave this one and keep on going.
Yes, I agree... keep going... hopefully they can work this out... but in the meantime don't stop blogging...you would think that there would be something that they could do...
Not a thing, lol. I have the new blog started, not sure when I will have time to 'debut'! Soon though.

The Heaven of Animals by James Dickey
Here they are. The soft eyes open.
If they have lived in a wood
It is a wood.
If they have lived on plains
It is grass rolling
Under their feet forever.
Having no souls, they have come,
Anyway, beyond their knowing.
Their instincts wholly bloom
And they rise.
The soft eyes open.
To match them, the landscape flowers,
Outdoing, desperately
Outdoing what is required:
The richest wood,
The deepest field.
For some of these,
It could not be the place
It is, without blood.
These hunt, as they have done,
But with claws and teeth grown perfect,
More deadly than they can believe.
They stalk more silently,
And crouch on the limbs of trees,
And their descent
Upon the bright backs of their prey
May take years
In a sovereign floating of joy.
And those that are hunted
Know this as their life,
Their reward: to walk
Under such trees in full knowledge
Of what is in glory above them,
And to feel no fear,
But acceptance, compliance.
Fulfilling themselves without pain
At the cycle’s center,
They tremble, they walk
Under the tree,
They fall, they are torn,
They rise, they walk again.
