Fun Facts
It has occurred to me that as a librarian, voracious reader and general trivia nut, I have an abundance of not overtly useful facts sloshing around in my brain. As I have this new blog and they have gifted me with this free Wiki page, I figured...why not? So, here is the place that will become a repository for all the
quasi-useless information that I have and am still acquiring. Enjoy!

According to Jeopardy! the gunfight at the OK Corral in Tombstone, AZ, was not as action packed as Hollywood leads us to believe. There were only 34 shots fired in total; a tidy 17 by each side, the Clantons and the Earps. Anyone wanna be my Huckleberry?

Delaware was the first state to join the union. Not a particularly astonishing fact, except that it joined on December 7, 1787. Some 154 years later, the very first attack on American soil was to be at Pearl Harbor, HI (strangely, the last state) on December 7, 1941. Conspiracy theorists unite!

The cartoon character Popeye has four nephews; each of whom bears a striking resemblance to our hero. The nephews are named: Peepeye, Pipeye, Poopeye, and Pupeye. I'm strong to the finish cause I eats me spinach.

In 1765, the sandwich was invented by John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwich, who gave the food its name. The Earl used to order roast beef between pieces of toast for a snack while he was at the gaming tables, it allowed him to keep one hand free to play while he ate. (Taken from Mindsay site-verbatim, but this is one of my favorite tidbits).

Olivia, I know this is a stupid question. What is your favorite book ? I know you read hundreds. Just wanted to know your favorite..
This will sound like a cop out but I can't possibly choose a favorite. Really. To me books are like best friends and you love them all for different reasons, you need them for different things, and you couldn't possibly pick just one. I love all books. I do not enjoy all books, but I love them all the same, just for being. If you were really curious, I could maybe come up with a top ten but that's the best I could do. Let me know. And if you have one, I would be curious to know.
Okay...I will work on it and let you know. Give me a couple days. It will be hard work...for sure. The Bible, hmm, I have never actually read it as a book. Am Catholic, so very familiar with it. But these days use it mostly for reference.
I don't want you to work hard hun....Your soooo sweet. I really don't read books much. I always thought you can't learn from a book. remember I only have a 10th grade education. I miss spell alot of words and puncuation is horrible lol. But the more I age I know I could have been more smarter and wiser if I just read more...Keep reading love and tell me your knowledge.. Love Timberwolf ++++
Thinking about books is never hard work for me. It is just paring down my favorites to only 10, that is the hard part.
Oh, sorry, I forgot to say that it wasn't a stupid question. As a librarian, I get asked that alot, but I always give the same answer that I gave you.
The fish I am holding in my photo is a bass. I guess. I don't know much about fish or fishing, I thought it was a walleye, but the friend I went fishing with told me that it is a bass. But honestly, I wouldn't know the difference if the thing had started talking and introduced himself. Thanks for stopping by!
