It is the 'nature of the sea' to create 'tidal waves' now and then. But don't worry, because I would always send 'one of my dolphins' to rescue you, and yours.

As Always,

Ellen, 'am still waiting to hear about your 'Birthday Surprise!' The 'Hotel Reservation' alone, was quite a 'nice surprise' in itself! Why is that your family's favorite hotel?

I have been sick with a sore throat, ever since my dental appointment? Fortunately, the next appointment is 'two weeks' from now... should be over it before then!

I had better get back into bed.

Re: Ellen622's Wiki Page

Hi Shaunasea! :-)

Let's start from the top. lols!  The kids (Amchit, Christine, Malen) took me to Tagaytay City! My favorite city second to Baguio. Both are mountain cities. Love the cool fresh air, the scenery, and the promise of seeing the famous Taal Volcano.

First off, a visit to the Church of Lourdes where Christine thought the Lady of Manaoag image would be. Unfortunately, the image had already been moved to another place. But the church was a beauty and we stayed for prayer.

Next, up we hied off to this lovely restaurant.... which turned out to be such a lovely place to see the famous volcano -- Taal Volcano -- situated in the middle of the lake. God gave us just the perfect weather to enjoy such a fantastic panoramic view of the volcano and the serene lake. At other times the scene would be blocked off by thick fog.  Then lunch came next -- delicious! This was just what I have been wishing to do -- lunch in Tagaytay with the view of the volcano. :-) Speaking of wishes come true!  After enjoying such a delightful visual and gastronomic feast, we next headed back for Manila.

3:00pm    Next stop, the Linden Suites -- my second home. Ah I love this place; have adapted it as my second home; we all have. Would never change it for any other hotel no matter how super luxurious or high-end. I have my best memories here; started after their dad passed (2007). Christine wanting to ease my sorrow arranged to have us stay at this hotel on Christmas Day - our first Christmas without him. After that, every event --  Christmas, family birthdays, or just escaping the intense heat of summer -- would be spent there.

The girls then proceeded to prepare our birthday dinner. Daniel arrived later from work and helped with the cooking. Green salad, fish, pasta, fruit salad, cake, and ice cream. I stayed clear of the kitchen activity and stayed with Lody (a close family friend)  in the living room with Malen turning on the Magic Sing (karaoke). Later in the evening played tennis with Amchit on WII. --- Fun fun fun!  And part of the surprise was my birthday gift ---- a gorgeous tote bag in my favorite color and just the right size for all my stuff! Also a CD pack of my favorite songs (old and new) on piano.

So there you are! The day was truly a blast! Something for my treasure chest of memories. I am so blessed having three wonderful daughters whose love care and affection is far beyond measure. Oh God is so good to send us all these blessings packed in one full day.  :-)

Oh do please rest your throat -- no talking. Lols! think you can do that? hahahah :-) Take care please. Drink lots of fluids, maybe it'll help.

It's getting windy and chilly outside. The weatherman sez that the typhoon will hit us midnight tonight. We're on signal #2.
Daughter Amchit's finished with putting on warm clothes on the pets and moved them inside. She brought out the flashlights, batteries, candles (just in case we run out of batteries).

Okay, my turn to get back to bed now.
Blessings to you.

Ellen

Re: Ellen622's Wiki Page
Dear Ellen,
You certainly did have a 'Special Birthday!' But you deserve no less, for you are a 'Special Person, and obviously, your 'genes' have extended to 'your 'Beautiful daughters! It is 'Wonderful' to see that 'They really 'Love and Appreciate' you!'

I have been so sick with a 'sore throat' for 'two weeks now, but 'yesterday was the first day that it 'really began to dissipate!' I would have gotten to the computer sooner... I was 'worried' when you wrote of a 'Typhoon!' I know that 'your islands' get a lot of these, but 'that' only makes it 'worse... especially now with 'Global Warming' PLEASE stay prepared!

I certainly wish they 'gave as much media coverage' when Mother Terrisa passed on, as they are 'giving to 'Michael Jackson' over here. He did 'dance in a unique fashion' and he was good at it, but so are many other dancers.Where are 'the media's Priority's anyway? In their wallets, I know! I 'honestly did feel sorry for Michael however... Though a rather 'neurotic' quirky, 'unique patchquilt' personality, I do really believe that he was 'basically a kind person.  It seems that the 'Feminine genes' ran rampant in his makeup. I think that he was trying to change that too, by marrying Elvis Prestleys daughter... (get some of those extremely masculine 'Elvis genes' in his kids, to balance things out' but I don't know if the 'third child' is hers or not? Anyway, may he 'rest in peace.' I just pray that he 'died of natural causes!' (I really do not believe that he 'molested' little boys.)

SO 'PRECIOUS! How you 'bundle-up' the pets, to keep them warm, also!
There are so many wonderful 'Pet Parents' here in America as well!

How I wish that it was 'the same everywhere!

Please stay safe, warm, and snugg!

!!!XOX!!!

Re: Ellen622's Wiki Page
Hi Shaunasea,

Thank you for the lovely words; means much to me coming from you. Thank you! Am glad that your throat is much better. Still give it more time to rest.

And don't you worry cos my children and I are prepared for the storm. Yes, the country's in for more; in fact, the weatherman sez that we have about 14 storms for this year. You know, I count it such a huge blessing that God took us to this mountain place to build our home some 20 yrs ago. Cos you should see what it's like down in the low areas around Metro Manila.... floods, fallen light posts, stalled vehicles in knee-high waters (sometimes running up to the waist) and horrific traffic snarls. Oh Lord, imagine the poor families living in shanties in congested areas. What's protecting them from all that?!!

Well, just like you, I also believe that a person's basically good, no matter how he turns out to be later in life. (Funny but people do manage to do crazy unimaginable things to themselves.) But sometimes it's not entirely a person's fault that things go awry in his life. Maybe something or someone influenced decisions somewhere along the way... and turned his world upside down. One just has to do his best to make things work in the midst of all that. Being a celebrity does not make it easy I guess.

I wish too the same with you...... be the same in every part of the globe. Right now as I write, Maxie the youngest of the pet dogs is curled up on my bed. Lols! :-)  Exhausted from playing with her new ball. 'Bought it yesterday from the pet shop to replace the old one which she lost. hahahah

Time for me to go... tummy seems upset; must be something I ate today.
Always take care, Shaunasea. Know that you are in my prayers too.
God bless you.

Re: Ellen622's Wiki Page
Finally, a day that looks warm enough for the beach!!! I just put on my bathing suit, and am headed there... umbrella, and a beach towel... that must of course 'match the bathing suit! I'll write more later, as it is already after 11:00 here... have been on the phone with my daughter for almost an hour, as I don't like to take the phone with me to the beach... all the sand, and 'if' the water is warm enough to swim in... don't want to have to worry about the cell phone being swiped!

No, sweeets, I never said that I believe that "all people are born basically good!" I really do not know! Of course, that is what I prefer to believe!

I, and quite honestly, I believe that no one, can really know 'anything' for a fact, when it comes to the way 'life on our planet' plays out! We see such 'injustice' and 'cruelty' while at the same time, in another place, we see 'justice' and 'kindness!' For a while I believed in 'Karma' but I am 'Certainly not sure about that, either!' I have seen enough, and lived through enough of my own 'misfortunes' to not hold 'any' firm beliefs... other than my 'faith' in God, for he, with the help of 'his angels here on Earth' have pulled me through some of the 'most frightening' times!

My animals have made my bed their own as well! But I 'love to cuddle' with them, and 'they with me. They also 'own' every sofa and chair in the house! When I ask them "if I can sit down," they look up at me, wag their tails, jump down, and then jump 'into my lap!' More cuddles! I think that it 'keeps me from being terribly lonely!' People don't snuggle with their children for more than a few moments, and I am certainly not 'dating yet... and after a year, if I do date again, when I 'snuggle' with a 'man'... it will always 'initiate' the man's sex drive! Dam! Can't they ever 'just 'cuddle??? Not that 'sex' is not important, and enjoyable, but sometimes we women 'just like to 'cuddle' with our man!!!

Do hope that your 'tummy ache' is better by the time that you read this! Two 'Tums' usually work well for me, with a full glass of fresh water.

It is a 'relief' to know that you and your 'loving' family are likely 'safe' from the typhoons... but all of you will be in my 'prayers' just the same, for with typhoons come other dangers... we know this well, living in the wild west of California! It is 'Really' wild out here! We have everything from 'Earthquakes, to Wildfires, to Mudslides, to Floods, to Drought! Oh yes, 'Tidal Waves, and Sharks!' That is an 'appropriate' thought, as I head for a 'long awaited' day at the beach! On second thought...        No, I guess 'we have to "Live Dangerously, or Not At All" as my hubby used to say to me. He was a crazy pilot, and almost killed us both, on three different occasions!
If not for 'the grace of God!'
!!!xox!!!

Re: Ellen622's Wiki Page
Hi Shaunasea, :-)

The beach! wow, love the beach too. But I don't swim heheheh :-) Anyway I love long walks on the shore, cool waves pounding at my feet, the whiff of sea breeze, and too watch children rollicking in the water. Fantastic!

Oh but I think God made us basically good -- made in His image, right? It's our fault that we turned out quite differently. Still that goodness is there... just pushed far down to the bottom of the heap -- the garbage heap we have gathered through life -- prejudice, bias, evil intent, judgmental, envy, greed, meanness, injustice, tyranny, and a lot of other things more which help create disputes arguments and wars. Anyway, God will deal with that in His own time, won't He? :-)

Isn't 'karma' something like this famous bible verse --- 'whatsoever you shall sow, so shall you reap'? Anyway, I too had my share of 'misfortunes' -- never had an easy life but God too was my steady companion through it all. We have such a magnificent God, don't we? :-)

Awww ain't it so lovely cuddling our pets?! Yup yup, you're so right about men and their sex drive lols. Yes, us women do love to cuddle with our man. It's a sweet man who would and knows how.

Tummy is fine now. It's Kremil-S to your Tums :-) but I have to take it every after meals for a few weeks. Acid tummy lols.

Thank you for your prayers; so appreciate it from you. What we have here are bad bad storms... gives us floods, dam overspills, fallen trees, ruined crops, battered homes, displaced families, monster traffic jams, and power interruptions. Ughh!! Yeah, 'living dangerously' is the right word. Oh gee, when did that mishap with hubby happen? Gosh, that's scary! Pheww glad you two came out of that safe.

This afternoon I went to see the opthalmologist to check on my cataract. Thank God she sez that am fine and that there's nothing to worry about. That I should come back 4-6 months after for routine check. She also prescribed 'artificial tears' to my complaint of occasional 'heavy' eyes. It's a daily thing, three times a day if the heaviness recurs. Oh boy, so this is how 'growing old' is like. hahahah  :-D

Okay, back's complaining now. Have to get off this chair. lols
Take care please. Know that you are always in my prayers.
God bless!

Ellen

Re: Ellen622's Wiki Page
Dearest Ellen, 'I loved that part of the bible that you quoted in response to 'Karma!' We reap what we sow! As you know, I believe 'only some of the words in the bible, but 'that is 'one of them.

Made in his image? I think that 'all of the 'Beauty on Earth' ... from the mountains to the sea, the 'True Humans' (not the inhuman, callous, and cruel) the Precious Animals, were all made in God's Image!

Yes, my mother and aunt had the same... the dry eye... and they also used the artificial tears. I have the 'blapheritis!' It is where the eyes 'tear to much! Every morning when I awake, I must use cold water and cotton balls to wipe my eyes... Sometimes, I am wiping my eyes all night long! It is awful! But there are 'worse' things, so we are fortunate! I am so glad to hear that your 'cateracts' are under control! Mine are also... the doctor seemed pleased.

Oh, the plane 'near misses!' It was when we were both young. Before the children were born. He was actually a 'Very good pilot' (just a bit wild) ... but we both loved to fly, and enjoyed his 'crazy antics!' He had the maintenance people at the airport check his plane, so 'that fire under the wings' was not due to his lack of attentiveness. It was the fault of the 'maintenance people! One time, we had to land on a rural highway, and another time, on a sandy beach! Still, we were young enough, that it was 'all exciting!  I miss those early years!

And you Ellen, Take care please, for you are 'also' always in my prayers!  God bless!

Hi Shirley,

Love it when you come visiting. :-)  Oh am fine, coping with the rainy weather here lols. Not just rain, but pouring rain -- huge drops.  Moonsoon, sez the weatherman. So we're officially in our rainy season now. On second thought, that's much better than the excruciating heat of the summer we just had.

Thanks for the link. Gone to see it and it looks great! :-)
Will be visiting you there. Nice way to keep in touch.

Take care. Bless you and your family.

Ellen
I posted a really funny joke that my Aunt Evelyn sent me. She is 85 years old. Very funny. check it out.
I was working in my garden all day. I just love being outside, and today was a good day to do yard work.
I have my humingbird feeder right outside my office and I can watch the humingbirds
come and drink all day and into dust.
Have a great day
Shirley
