Vampires

History: Vampires were found to have been around in the days when demons, witches (both male and female), and humans lived in a technological era much more advanced than is seen in the world today.  Vampires in those times were born, not turned, and lived on harvested blood.  Demons were the most populated among the three races with witches and vampires tying for second and humans last.  Humans were raised to be the slaves of demons, the guinea pigs for witches and warlocks, and cattle for vampires.  A person's worth could be determined by the number of humans they had.

Vampires in those days, lived aboveground in those days, free to walk the earth with no fear from the sun.  Having no need to live in secret, most vampires were as humas are today, but with stricter morals and standards.  It was hard to find a vampire who killed needlessly and in fact, it was frowned upon by the elders of the time.  Feeding was an art, not a need, since blood was plentiful and assured.

When the humans were nearly wiped out, the demons imprisoned in the nth dimension, and the magical folks killed, only one vampire survived, kept alive by the alien being who had stumbled upon their planet, claiming it for its own.  The alien called itself "God".  The vampire, a child, was the product of a witch female and a vampire male.  The vampire was dormant in the child, masked over by the witch blood.  God named the child "Adam" and from him, created a female, Eve, using advanced genetics, far superior than anything the demons had ever created.  It was then that a group of angels, led by Lucifer, rebelled against their leader, appalled by the genocidal war God had done.  Unable to kill them, God sent them down from his ship, Heaven, leaving them to fend for themselves on the ruined world.

The offspring flourished, the vampire and witch blood became more diluted, repressed for generations until one day two children were born, Caine and Abel.  The vampire blood awoke in the child and he killed his brother, feeding on his blood, overcome by the bloodlust.  God, seeing this happen, captured the vampire child but found he could not bring the child into his ship.  Instead, he tried to erradicate the vampire blood on Earth.  In the end, the child was saved by Lucifer and a few other fallen angels.  But damage had already been done to the child.  It could not survive in the sun without suffering from major burns.

Caine became the first vampire, or the first modern vampire.  Lucifer had long since discovered a hidden tomb, far beneath the earth's surface in which a trio of vampires had survived in.  These vampires had taken refuge in their hidden safehouse, sleeping in a state of tupor, unable to awaken without the blood of their kind given to them.  It wasn't until later that they were found by the children of Caine, risen up in the hopes of gaining favor from them.  The trio of vampires slew the three vampires that woke them.  They found themselves in a world populated heavily with humans.  Their own powers were weak, pathetically so when compared to their former glory.  They were the only three vampires left, their Kindred brothers decimated by the emergence of a new enemy, the werewolf.

Before the trio were found, a Secret War had begun in the years following the awakening of the vampire blood in Caine.  God, being the genetic manipulator that he was, created a werewolf.  It was the equal of a vampire, its power handicapped by the lunar cycle.  They ravaged the hundreds of vampires that had been begun to live, killing almost all but the few that had managed to escape.  It was those survivors that had followed the angel, Lucifer, to the hidden tomb.  They were the ones who had been killed, their blood given up to feed the vampires they had woke.

The Three, as they soon became known, took to hiding in secret, hampered by the necessity to hide from the now-deadly rays of the sun.  But soon enough, they became strong once more, using secrecy and death as a ways of keeping their kind alive.

Unknown to them, others had survived, deep in the arctic part of the world.  It was these vampires that had somehow retained their powers.  They had long since taken to moving secretely among humans.  But they had always been distrustful of each other and the rift had widened among them until they separated, gone into the world to make their own place.  You might know them as Christof, Robert and Link.

Powers & Weaknesses: The typical powers of a fledgling vampire include:

• Increased strength, speed, agility
• Increased senses i.e. hearing, smell, sight, touch
• Increased thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Hyper-regenative abilities

Some vampires, as they increase in age, develop new powers, usually shown more within certain blood klans (though not limited to): 

• Telekinesis
• Mind-control
• Shape-changing
• Pyrokinesis

and a very few have shown the ability to create doorways into the demon realm.

The ways a vampire can be killed (some become less effective with age):

• Being exposed to the sun though the older one gets, the longer they can stay exposed
• Decapitation
• Heart damaged severe enough to prevent regeneration coupled with massive blood loss or having it ripped out.

Demons

History: The demons originally came from a different dimension millennia before Egyptians were a glimmer of a thought in the humans that lived in that time.  There were many different types of demons, some looking almost human in shape to some that had no recognizable human parts to them.  They were not a barbaric people because almost as soon as they enslaved the small human population, they began to focus on creating a world that would put most current societies to shame.  They had a longer life span though they matured quickly, moreso than the humans whom they raised, fed, and clothed to take care of them.  Though they were not found in quite the large number as there are now, there were still many different types of demons.

Among the demons were two special races.  One set of demons who had a taste for blood.  Most of the demons had developed distasteful blood to them but the humans, they had the sweetest blood they had ever tasted.  It wasn't long before matings occurred and from them came the vampires.  The other set of demons were proficient in the use of magic.  They too took to mating with the humans, though for them it was a necessity rather than a wanting because they were dying out.  They found the mating as a blessing though, since humans turned out to be just as practical when it came to using magic as themselves, moreso in some cases.

The demons were led by one being, the strongest of the demons who had the ability to take the powers of others.  This power did not corrupt him as it would have others.  In fact, he hated it but saw the need for leadership among the forming demons.  He was a massive demon, standing nearly eight feet tall and weighing somewhere between three and four hundred pounds.  His skin was like titanium.  He had two arms, two legs, four clawed-fingers on each hand, three clawed toes on each foot; no noticeable nose or ears, a mouth, and three eyes, the third found in the center of his forehead.  His left eye was green, his right blue, and the third eye was red.  His arms had blades that formed from his wrist to his elbow and his head had a crown of horns.  His body was completely hairless.  He wore clothes he had made from the skin of animals, the practice of which he put to humans.  When among the humans, he would change his body to look like them, to keep his true shape hidden.  The only other person who knew his true form, was the witch/vampire child that would survive the coming genocide.

Most of the demons, cannot break through the barrier that separates them from the human world.  The ones that can have taken to living among the humans, building up their own empires without a care for their demon brethren.  It's unknown what has happened to the demon lord.  Whether he is stuck like the others in the demon realm or moving unseen with the humans, none alive can remember what happened to him.  And none care to find out.

Powers & Weaknesses:  With the large amount of different types of demons, the range of powers and weaknesses vary widely.  Some are deathly allergic to something as simple as dandelions while some must be dismembered, burned, then doused in saltwater before they can be declared dead.  There are some demons who have the ability to steal life energy from other beings, some who are telekinetic and among them can be different forms like some who can manipulate things they cannot physically see but know of or move massive items.

Slayers

History: Slayers did not come around until after the "modern" day vampire and the new emergence of werewolves began to crop up.  The magic-using humans were few in number and knew that their kind could be wiped out if either of the two races became too powerful.  With the help of a powerful vampire, they were able to imbue a human child with the power to match and defeat vampires and werewolves.  The power that flowed through the child warped her DNA so that her children would be born with the same power.

The first slayer had experienced death close hand by vampires, her family having been slaughtered by vampires.  She grew up, training with the witches who raised her, had children who were taken under the wing of the coven and fought.  Most modern-day slayers live short lives, few reaching past their thirties because of the hazardous lifestyle they live.  There are some slayer lines that have been around for centuries, others that appeared from unknown family lines.  As more and more slayers were born, they moved away from their witch allies, scattering out to survive, protecting the humans they were sworn to protect.

Powers & Weaknesses:  A slayer has increased abilities matching those of a fledgling vampire.  As they train, they become stronger, faster, more deadly to their vampire enemy.  Theoretically, they have a longer lifespan than humans but most don't live past their thirties.  They heal quickly, with recovery from major wounds taking longer than minor ones.

Witches/Warlocks

History: The first witches and warlocks were not human but demons.  There were many kinds of witches and warlocks from those that dealed specifically with an element to some who mastered many elements.    It was not the study of a particular element that determined the nature of the magic user but rather, how it was employed.  Coincidentally or not, it wasn't until the demons began to mate with humans and human magic users were born did certain characteristics appear.  Warlocks, on average, were more power-hungry than witches and took to employing magic in whatever way they could to help them advance in power and place.  Witches were more incline to influence in subtle ways, growing stronger as 'covens' rather than going at it alone as warlocks were wont to do.

One witch fell in love with a Vampire and from them, the child was born that would be the last surviving human after the genocidal war that God brought.  It was this child that would keep alive the power of both his parents.  The descendants of this child who became the 'new' magic wielders, were not as proficient in magic as their ancestors.  From time to time, books containing spells from before are found only to be lost again, the reader never to be seen or heard from again. 

Magic: There are six elements that a witch or a warlock can, potentially, master.  Fire, destruction magic; Air, illusion magic; Water, healing magic; Earth, protection magic; Light, holy & divination magic; and Shadow, death magic.  There are spells that combine elements, becoming stronger than it could alone.  Witches and Warlocks are not immortal in the sense of vampires and werewolves, but they have been known to live for centuries, extending their lives with their magic.

Werewolves

History: Werewolves are the result of genetic manipulation by God after Caine began to raise his vampiric children.  The humans that were turned into vampires were lost to God and to combat them, he created a werewolf.  His plan backfired though when werewolves began to spread almost as quickly as the vampires.  They were indiscriminate killers, going after humans, vampires, and witches alike.  By the time the vampires were almost exterminated, the older ones began to learn to control their change.  It was by their choice that they hunted down their own kind, curbing the werewolf population and choosing with more care.

They travel in packs, following an alpha male and female; most packs are comprised of the children of the two.  Werewolves have a ride territorial range and dislike being too close to other packs unless there's a meeting to be had.  Solitary werewolves do not last long as they were too wild, killed either by slayers, vampires, or their own kind.  Werewolves a lifespan that can last as long as a vampire and some have.

Powers & Weaknesses: A human that is bitten by a werewolf has until the next full moon before they first change.  Young werewolves are almost uncontrollable, falling victim to their own lust to kill and eat.  They are kept locked up until they are able to control the animal side of them.  In their werewolf form, they are powerful creatures, able to stand erect or (as they prefer when traveling) to run on all fours.  They have a deadly weakness to silver, brought down upon them by a dying warlock whose family had been ravaged by the creatures.

Like the wolf, they have incredible senses, even at a young age.  Werewolves that are born have a higher ability to master their werewolf form.  They do not first change until their teens, which sometimes causes trouble, as one could guess.  The werewolves that can control their change can bring it about even when there is no full moon.  It is during the full moon that they are at their strongest, though even during the rest of the month, they are not one to mess with.

Angels

History: Angels are the main force God employs.  Whether they are a manipulated race or genetically created by God is not known since no angel knows the history of their kind.  For the most part, they traveled with God throughout the galaxies, carrying out his orders for eons.  Until the day they were ordered to wipe out a race of beings similar in appearance to their own, sans the wings.  Led by Lucifer, the rebel angels argued against the order but in the end, carried out the genocidal orders.

Later on, when God ordered the death of the young human boy, Caine, who showed his vampiric heritage, Lucifer and the other angels took the child and hid him.  Angered by this, God banished the angels from ever returning to Heaven, changing their wings to a dark black to show their fallen status.

Powers & Weaknesses:  Angels have the ability to travel almost anywhere in the world at the speed of a thought.  Witches and warlocks have been able to erect barriers to keep angels from finding their covens.  They have no weakness to any man-made weaponry and can withstand thousands of degrees of temperature.  Angels have the ability to create weapons made of the elements in different forms.

Some of the older vampires have shown the ability to hurt angels as well as a variety of different demon species.  While angels are thought of to be immortal, only the smartest ones have been able to survive throughout the entire occupation of Earth.  Most of the other angels travel together since a lone angel has a higher chance of being attacked by large groups of demons.

God

History: The history of God is a mystery for the most part.  What is known is that sometime in the age when demons ruled, he arrived in his ship, Heaven.  God (whether male or female), is able to manipulate the world better than even the witches and warlocks of that time.  He has a following of winged, human-like angels who carries out his orders.  They were the ones who hunted down and killed the Vampires, witches, warlocks, and humans; saving from them a child.  They drove back the demons, allowing their lord and master to send the demons into a different dimension parallel to what is now called the "human" realm.

When God began his genetic manipulations of the child, Adam to create Eve, a group of his angels led by Lucifer, rebelled.  Unable to kill them, he sent them down to Earth, there to live out their immortal lives on the planet.  They became known as the 'Fallen' angels, differentiated by the other angels by their scorched-black wings.  Lucifer was the one who helped Caine, when the vampire child fed on his brother Abel, to care for him and raise him; teaching him of his history.

Whatever need for the human soul God has, is unknown.  For how long God intends to stay in the orbit of Earth is also a mystery.  That he poses a dangerous foe to the people on Earth is obvious. 

Powers & Weaknesses: God is a master of genetic manipulation and an alien being.  What powers he may have are unknown.  What weaknesses he may have are a secret.
