About Me:

My name is Duane, but you can call me "Roger" (FAQ: Why "Roger"?). I am a business owner, an independent contractor currently involved in one of Houston's local logistics industry. I am also a musician, guitar teacher, artist, web / graphics designer, blogger, bar hopper, coffee lover, sushi connoisseur and at times, a party animal.

Personality: Many of my closest friends describe me as a very easy going person that virtually gets along with anybody. People say that I'm goofy, funny, friendly, flirtatious, witty, spastic and hyperactive. Some people wonder if I ever get bored. I am also known to be very clever, cunning, wise, intelligent, imaginative, creative, down-to-earth, and humble.

Don't get me wrong, I can also be very shy and insecure at times. However once I get to know you, I can be very obnoxious.... heheh

I sometimes tend to be very sarcastic, arrogant, vindictive, mysterious and unpredictable. It's a natural self-defense mechanism. I can also hold grudges that can last from 2 hours to 8 years (and some of you know this) depending on how badly I'm disrespected, lied to, or falsely accused.

Music: I listen to all types of music. But I mainly listen to rock alternative, punk, ska, electronic, trip-hop, trance, drum & bass, hip-hop, video game music, etc. Sometimes I listen to classical and jazz when I have to alter my mood.

My Music: I'm a musician. Making my own music and writing my own songs has always been the best way of expressing my emotion, my creativity and myself. I can play a range of music instruments; guitar, bass, piano, synthesizers, drums, recorder(?), harmonica(?), 303, 505, 808, beatbox(?). I have a few multitrack recordings of my songs using Cakewalk Pro-Audio 9 and some live recordings using my computer's microphone. And yes, I do play live in some parties, get-togethers and a few open mic events. I used to be in a band called "Nearsighted" and "Knockabouts" but we never got anywhere. So, I'm going on my own endeavors in the music industry.

Business: As of 11/01/2006, I am now an independent contractor working as a delivery driver / messenger.  I am self-employed and currently holds a large contract with a local-based courier service. 

Photography: (as of 11/23/2007) I now use the Olympus FE-280 digital camera for taking hi-resolution photos.  My "old" camera (Intel CS780) is not the best camera in the world. But I can also use it as a webcam. I have my camera 90% of the time I go anywhere and I take pictures of things that interest me (i.e. mangled street signs, graffiti, inspiring shots).

Video: I currently use my Olympus FE-280 to shoot videos, mainly my video blogs.  Most of the video blogs I plan to shoot are filmed in my car, with a suction "tripod" attached to my windshield.  I enjoy editing videos.

Drawing: I enjoy sketching, but it happens rarely. Especially girls I daydream about. They usually remain in their sketched phase since inking is something I'm not good at (ironic ehh...)

Martial Arts: Tae Kwon Do, and currently researching the philosophies and the concept of Jeet Kune Do.

Web Design: Although I am self-taught in HTML (and now, CSS), I enjoy expressing my simplistic  and humble creativity on the internet. Since I consider web and graphics design as just a hobby and a challenge.

I've been stuck in the real world, fixing what has been procrastinated. I've been battling my "family law" court cases. I've been living in a place with no internet. I was in two bands, and spent time with them when I did have spare time. I've also been working a lot lately (since the potential of making money is easier). I've been bowling, and going on dates with my girlfriend. I've been on MYSPACE!!! Just kidding....

Q. (by tobefree) If you were stranded on an island and could only have three things, what would they be?
A. This reminds me of a similar question I was asked when Hurricane Rita came to Houston. But as far as an island, I would like to have a lighter, my wallet, and shorts.

Q. (by tobefree) What are you five most favorite things to do?
A. The list goes as follows:

1. Wasting away on the internet
2. Playing the guitar
3. Having sex
4. Watching movies
5. Bowling

Q. (by tobefree) Do you have any special talents or qualities that are unique to you?
A. I've been told that I can be so versatile that it makes me very unpredictable. As far as playing the guitar, I play by ear and I've been doing that for so long that it's easy for me to learn songs by listening to it once or twice. When many people out there are described to be intelligent or smart, I'm described to be wise, cunning and very clever.

Q. (by eris) Why do you 'blog?
A. I like to talk about the things I do, things that people in real life usually won't care to hear. I also like to keep a record of the things I do. Now, depending on the blog site, my answer to this question may differ (i.e. in Yahoo! 360°, I started to blog there to keep a record of my contract work log). Also, I blog because many of you (in MindSay) gets a laugh at a few things I post.

Q. (by eris) What is under your bed?
A. Pictures from a long time ago, porn DVDs, toilet paper, posters, and hang on (looking)...
...shoeboxes full of mail that needs to be sorted (bank statements, bills, etc)
