Hiya! As anyone can see, I really like Gene Wilder alot, particularly his portrayal of Willy Wonka, so this personal page will be devoted to my Wilder fandom.
I got bitten by the bug almost three years ago on my 21st birthday when I was watching Willy Wonka with my little nephew. I became fascinated with the character of Willy Wonka, which led into an interest in learning about actor Gene Wilder. So I've been a fan of his for only a couple years compared to most of his fanbase, which started sometime in the 70's. I also really enjoyed reading his autobiography which came out in March of last year, entitled Kiss Me Like A Stranger.
For those of you who also bear a passion for Gene, or just want to know more about him, I'm going to do like a photo essay-type thing. So if you're interested, feel free to keep scrolling! It'll probably take me awhile to get everything written up, but I've gotten started on it, plus posted all the pictures I'm going to use. I have quite a large collection of these pictures, so I can't possibly use them all.... I'll have to be picky I suppose.

Gene was actually born Jerome Silberman on June 11, 1933 to middle-class parents, William and Jeanne Silberman, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He lived a fairly normal life with his parents and older sister, Corrinne, until he was around eight. That's when his mother suffered a heart attack, and "Jerry" began a newfound quest to make her laugh to avoid angering or upsetting her at all cost. This was the beginning of Jerry's knack for comedy.

I'll probably add more later, but for now this will work =) Thanks for coming to mah Wiki Page!

I met Jamie his first day at Shiriners, as I had been there for years already. He told me he was on vacation in Florida with his family when he dove off a sea-wall and broke his neck. The Philly shriner's had a new spinal cord injury unit that opened up that year, Jamie was one of our first spinal injury patients. I met his mother and brother a few times, they said they were from North Carolina and that Jamie was a State wrestling champ. I new when I read you blog that it was him you mentioned. Please, if you get a chance to see the family tell them that Doug, from Shriner's said hello and that he is sorry for thier loss. I liked Jamie as he was a kind soul with a great heart back then, as we all were trapped in a hellist situation! I hope you bright sunshine to his life!
Doug
