What a nice surprise to see you in my inbox. Good poem too, by the way!
My parents were both born in KY. I am familiar with the land and the people. My grandpa was "influencial" in the Ashland area, my Pop was born in Pike County, and Mom was born in Greenup County. (Mom came to Ohio at 9 mos in a covered wagon. ..imagine that!).
Jobs are scarce everywhere. I will put you in my prayer book and believe that you will find what you WANT to do and be paid handsomely for it!
Have you tried writing for Mags, and newspapers? Maybe you could pick up a few local ones, and test it out. Might as well get started on your career as a writer by making money at it, right? What else are you looking for? What have you done in the past?
I wanted to be a Missionary to Monrovia, Liberia when I was a kid, actually, head for the jungles just east of there, but things changed, and my life took a different direction. It must have been a real education being in South Africa for your first 34 years, and I bet you have the stories to tell! You must tell me about it. I would love to know!
I hope we keep in contact, and I appreciate your letting me be your friend!
