Molecular Poetry
by Keith Allen Daniels
Function follows structure
up from molecule to brain,
whose schematics are reflected
in the thoughts we entertain.
Even poetry and music
are informed by DNA,
and the cadence of a sonnet
is genetic, one could say.
Whoever claims that verse is free
perpetuates a sham.
Enslaved by biochemistry,
I think, therefore iamb.

I may have been there, but I don't recall. There are a lot of bloggers I visit once and don't see again.
was watching something on the Travel Channel regarding farms in Iceland, and it made me think of you. There is this yogurt that they make from cow's milk, and whatever curds they have left goes to the chickens to make their eggs tasty!
There's a dead cow behind the barn, and when I was back there the other day, a chicken was pecking at it.
I also get chickens standing amongst the cats when I toss them a little cat food while doing chores.
Funny birds.

Dr. Hibbert: Yes, I remember Bart's birth well. You don't forget a thing like... [dramatic pause] Siamese twins!
Lisa: I believe they prefer to be called "conjoined twins".
Hibbert: And hillbillies prefer to be called "sons of the soil", but it ain't gonna happen.

I just said it looks like the pre-upgrade M113, before they redid the drive train with six road wheels and better suspension.
They had an APC at Ruby Ridge, too, didn't they?
If the cops have armored vehicles, I demand to be allowed to purchase, own, and use an RPG-7 or 29 with tandem-HEAT warheads. No way law enforcement in a democratic(representative or otherwise) nation has the right to use military grade vehicles on private or public property.

Clever way to totally disregard Posse Comitatus... I wonder if the LAPD has military surplus HueyCobras in their arsenal. I wouldn't put it past law enforcement to be maintaining a squadron of Harriers somewhere.
The Founders and Framers didn't give us guns so much to defend against foreign threats, separated by wide oceans, as to protect us from the precariously balanced government they were putting in place. At least theoretically. The concentration of wealth and firepower at the hands of the few was not something we're quite prepared for.

And people have a hard time fighting the part of them that says "I'd rather be alive/safe than free."
