The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels where the stories center around children who, because of their innocence and sense of wonder, can slip between our world and Narnia by magical means.  Written by C.S. Lewis, these beloved books are considered a classic of children's literature and are perhaps the author's best known work. More than 95 million copies of the books have been sold in 41 languages. Written by Lewis between 1950 and 1956, The Chronicles of Narnia contain Christian themes intermixed with Greco-Roman myth and traditional English and Irish fairy tales.  The books have been adapted for radio, television and cinema.  Recently the series' first installment, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe was adapted by Walden Media in conjunction with Disney Pictures and was a major motion picture released in the U.S. on December 9th, 2005.

Re: The Chronicles Of Narnia
I was brought up with them.  I had them read to me when I was a kid and then later read them as a young adult and read them again as an older adult.  With each read you pick up on new things.  Like, for instance so many people point out that "Narnia" is all Christian allegory, but I don't see it that way at all.  I have a more Pagan world view and I read a lot of pagan sacred stories in this.  In fact, I think that's why C.S.Lewis wrote the books the way he did; so that everyone can bring their own point of view to the stories.

If you haven't read the books, you should.  They kick ass for an all ages audience!

Re: The Chronicles Of Narnia
Actually, C.S. Lewis wrote the stories because him and R.L. Tolken had been discussing the idea of arcitypes and religiouns figures in literature, and they wanted to see if their theories held true.

Re: The Chronicles Of Narnia
That's true. IN fact Tolkien often critisized Lewis for making his mythic stories too broad in scope.

Re: The Chronicles Of Narnia
Not a problem.  I just d/l a bunch of graphics for Narnia and will post them post haste.  I'm in the middle of doing a job search at the moment, so maybe later tonight or tomorrow you can come back and see it.  I'm thinking of making the background the wardrobe or something similiar.  Not sure yet.  I'll keep most of the current content, however, we'll see!  Hope you approve.  I'm a big fan of the books.  It's a family tradition -- three generations all hooked on Narnia.  My mother even got to meet C.S.Lewis when she was a kid!  Talk about awesome.
