Where did the idea for vampires come from?
Do they really exist?
Or are they stories made to chill the blood?

Re: Vampires

vampirism

This brings me to the reason and definition of a "Psychic Vampire". This actually has a double meaning. Satanically speaking, a Psychic Vampire is one who purposely will draw your emotions to them just to make themselves feel good. They will feel sorrow so that you will comfort them or they will show you love just for the purpose of receiving it in return. The second type of Psychic Vampire would be more directed along the line of mysticism and magick. A Psychic Vampire is not one who feeds on blood, but rather one who draws the energy force from their victims body. This can be voluntarily or without knowing it. A person who just seems to wear you out when you are around them would fall into this category. Psychic Vampire can also have malicious intent, but generally there's not much to fear as most are not very proficient and a "psychic draining" is not fatal. These two meaning indeed differ greatly. The first is a more obnoxious, annoying person who deserves a heart of stone to block their worthless attempts. The second, however, is open to the mind of the individual. It's hard to say if this even exists, but many would say it does. If it is a true form of magick then there are ways to protect yourself. Either case, Psychic Vampires exist, so take caution.

Actual Vampirism including drinking of blood is a much more different story. I have received various e-mails about people asking me what it is to be a vampire, how blood affects you, and if I personally believe in the many myths and legends. Well, I'll start off with a very simple fact. It is most dangerous to go around pretending to be a story-book vampire when you indeed are not one. As soon as you end up breaking your legs jumping off of a building, or being jailed for attempting to bite someone, you will find this out. Being slightly vampiric or perhaps somewhat gothic is one thing, but let fantasy be where it belongs. If, however, you truly are a vampire- then go ahead and do what you want. As far as drinking blood goes, here are some general rules which you should take into consideration:

The first is that People Need Blood to Survive. They need their own blood. If you and someone decide to engage in vampiric activity, please remember that a deep cut can be extremely damaging, and drinking blood after you have lost a lot will not do anything except make you sick to your stomach and maybe make you pass out from blood loss. People can not regain blood through ingestion. This brings me to my next point.

As far as Consuming Blood is concerned, the medical breakdown can be summed up very briefly like this. The consumption of blood frequently and/or large amounts can result in serious health risks. Many throat and other infections can be the result of drinking blood. If you enjoy it, please remember that moderation truly should be in effect here. I would not recommend some regular blood drinking time, but I would suggest not more than every two weeks, and even then do not drink in excessive amounts. If you merely lick a scratch, then I think you will be ok. I refer in this section more to the people who drink a glass of blood (believe me, there are some) every so often.

Myths and Legends are also very interesting. Indeed there are many good vampire book and stories out there. As far as if they are true, I say this: to a real vampire, perhaps all of these are true. Perhaps some. Clearly you can be in the sun, clearly you can take being on holy ground and the sight of crucifixes does not repel you.(as far as the stake through the heart goes, well...just take my word that this is a normal thing) However no one is stopping you from being a vampire. There are many types, as you have seen. Mythical vampires, which providing interesting reading, do not parallel the "mortal" vampire. So it's okay to go out in the sun. In fact, the sun provides vitamins to you which help you, sun deficiency is not a nice thing to happen. It can bring depression, and mood swings. Keep the vampire books on shelf, and your mind in the right place, and you'll be fine.

Real Vampire: A person who physically craves life energy (prana) which can come from living blood or from psychic energy. Deprived of prana a real vampire will become increasingly tired until they have feed on prana.

Sang or Sanguianrian: A person who derives prana from blood.

Psi Vampire: A person who derives prana from psychic energy.

Elemental Vampire: A person who derives prana from elemental forces such as lighting or fire.

Fetish Vampire: A person who enjoys blood for the sake of blood. They may draw prana either from blood or psychically but they do not crave blood nor do they grow tired when deprived of outside sources of prana. In some cases fetish vampires derive sexual satisfaction from blood and blood sports and may even require it for sexual satisfaction.

Poser: A person who is not a vampire but pretends to be one. Often they will pose as an ancient historic vampire such as Dracula or Countess Bathory. Posers are often Role Player who carry their game over into the other vampire categories and attempt to play with non-consenting individuals. Others are confused about the boundaries between reality and play. Still others are attempting to enter another vampire category and feel the need to put on an act to gain entrance. Finally there is a group whose motivation is primarily malicious and engages in this behavior to case dissention or to ridicule others.

Role Player: A person who plays games where they take on the persona of vampire. These games can be in gaming groups or on line groups. The primary difference between them and posers is they play with other consenting individuals and acknowledge that what they are doing is fictional.

Lifestyle Vampire: A person who lives their life fully or partly in the role of a vampire. This may be in the form of dress or may take the form of real-time role playing. Such individuals may or may not be another type of vampire.

Donor: A donor is not a vampire but an individual who for any number of reasons has chosen to voluntarily supply blood or prana to a vampire.

Cutter: A person who cuts themselves. These people often do so to relieve inner pain or pressure. They differs from a fetish vampire in that a cutter is expressing pain or desensitizing themselves to pain while a fetish vampire engages in blood play for pleasure or arousal. Some members of the vampire community are cutters but this is incidental and this definition is included for completeness and to show a group that might be mistaken for being a member of the vampire community but is not.

Supernatural Vampires: I have not run into a name for the vampires we read about in literature or see in movies. The consensus of the vampire community is that none exist. Anyone who claims to be a supernatural vampire is assumed to be a poser. As a spiritualist and a shaman, I will not categorically state that no supernatural vampires exist but it seems unlikely that they would manifest their presence within the human vampire community which is purely human in nature.

Please remember that people use terms differently. Because I use a term differently then you does not mean that either of us is wrong. Nor does it mean I'm putting you down or forcing you into box. Labels are to aid communication, they are not reality. No one fits neatly into a label and should not be constrained to it limits

vampire faq

1. Do vampires really die if they are exposed to the sun?
I have never heard of any real vampires who burst into flames or crumbled into dust from exposure to the sun. Some vampires do have a severe sensitivity to sunlight as well as certain forms of artificial light. This sensitivity can cause several different problems for the vampire. First it can cause the individual to be more susceptible to sunburn, sunstroke, and certain other sun related malodies. Second, it often causes the individual to suffer a form of day blindness, similar to snow blindness.

2. Do religious items such as crucifixes really ward off vampires?
Real vampires, the ones I have met, belong to all religious and non-religious denominations. There are Christians and Muslims, atheists and agnostics. Religious items, such as crucifixes and holy water do not repel vampires nor do they cause harm to vampires.

3. Can vampires really change into other animals?
Shapeshifting is a phenomenon discussed in many shamanic religions, and therefore not exclusive to vampirism. Native American folklore speaks of people capable of assuming the shape of animals, thereby connecting with the spirit of that animal. Although I do not claim to be an authority on the subject of shapeshifting, none of the vampires I have met have claimed to have the ability.

4. Are vampires really immortal?
I have met vampires who claim they will have a longer lifespan than normal people. I have also read texts claiming that there are documented cases of vampiric persons who have shown slower aging than normal people. None of this indicates however, that vampires are immortal. Vampires do seem to have a stronger immune system than normal people, but as far as my research has uncovered thus far, they do die.

Ancient vampires rules

ONE

That each coven must have its leader and only he might order the working of the Dark trick upon a mortal, seeing that the methods and the rituals were properly observed.

TWO

That the Dark Gifts must never be given to the crippled, the maimed, or to children, or to those who cannot, even with the Dark Powers survive on their own. Be it further understood that all mortals who would recieve the Dark Gifts should be beautiful in person so that the insult to God might be greater when the trick is done.

THREE

That never should an old vampire work this magic lest the blood of the fledgling be too strong. For all our gifts increase naturally with age and the old ones have too much strength to pass on. Injury, burning -- these catastrophes, if they do not destroy the Child of Satan will only increase his powers when he is healed. Yet Satan guards the flock from the powers of old ones, for almost all, without exception go mad.

In this particular, let Armand observe that there was no vampire then living who was more than 300 years old. No one alive then could remember the first Roman coven. The devil frequently calls his vampires home.

But let Armand understand here also that the effect of the Dark Trick is unpredictable, even when passed on by the very young vampire and with all due care. For reasons no one knows, some mortals when Born to Darkness become as powerful as Titans, others may be no more than corpses that move. That is why mortals must be chosen with skill. Those with great passion and indominatable will should be avoided as well as those who have none.

FOUR

That no vampire may ever destroy another vampire, except that the coven master has the power of life and death over all of his flock. And it is further his obligation to lead the old ones and the mad ones into the fire when they can no longer serve Satan as they should. It is his obligation to destroy all vampires who are not properly made. It is his obligation to destroy all those who are so badly wounded that they cannot survive on their own. And it is his obligation finally to seek the destruction of all outcasts and all those who have broken these laws.

FIVE

That no vampire shall ever reveal his true nature to a mortal and let the mortal live. No vampire must ever reveal the history of the vampires to a mortal and let the mortal live. No vampire must commit to writing the history of the vampires or any true knowledge of vampires lest such a history be found by mortals and believed. And a vampire's name must never be known to mortals, save from his tombstone, and never must any vampire reveal to mortals the location of his or any other vampire's lair.

What is a Vampire?

Anyone who preys upon others can be seen as a psychic vampire. A person who exploits or ruins a lover is a psychic vampire. On a global scale, ageism, sexism, racism, abuse of human rights, international terrorism, and so-called "ethnic cleansing" are among the many faces of psychic vampirism.
Fortunately, we now know enough about psychic vampirism to halt it in its track. Step-by-step strategies specifically designed to confront and overcome the threat of psychic vampirism are now available to everyone. Psychic Vampires: Protection from Energy Predators & Parasites details scores of totally new strategies and psychic tools, each laboratory tested, that can effectively empower the potential victim of psychic vampirism. We can prevent a one-on-one psychic vampire attack or promptly end it. Groups can effectively inoculate themselves against the onslaught of psychic vampirism. We can effectively counteract parasitic vampirism and break its vicious cycle by unblocking corroded internal energy channels and opening up new ones. We can act decisively to erase the effects global vampirism and protect the earth from future harm.
Understanding psychic vampirism is critical in our quest to realize our growth potentials and achieve our highest level of personal and global actualization.

Psychic vampirism is alive and flourishing in the world today. It exacts a heavy toll-it demands life-force energy and in some instances, it literally destroys lives. At a personal level, it wastes our energies, dampens the immune system, and undermines the body’s natural defenses against illness. At a global level, it can literally drain the earth of its survival resources and interrupt its harmony and balance. It follows that finding ways of preventing psychic vampirism, or successfully counteracting it, must be among our top priorities.
There are several forms of psychic vampirism, each of which demands a host victim.

One-on-one Attacks
In the one-on-one vampire encounter, the psychic vampire taps into the energy system of a selected host victim for the express purpose of extracting energy. Typical one-on-one psychic vampires are not agents of evil bent on the destruction of their victims. Furthermore, they possess none of the supernatural powers attributed to folklore vampires. They function instead from a position of profound weakness. Deficient in energy, and with their own energy system usually impaired, they seek other energy options-the energy system of a host victim.
Almost everyone has experienced the common vampire interaction that left them both mentally and physically fatigued. Unfortunately, the psychic vampire’s energy system is only temporarily replenished, thus requiring repeated attacks. For the host victim of recurring attacks, the consequences can be extremely harmful.
In the group setting, psychic vampirisrn can involve multiple vampires and victims. It can occur within groups and between groups, with power, wealth, and control being among its major goals. Highly competitive groups whose goal is to subdue or defeat the opposition, along with heated political campaigns, seem particularly vulnerable to group psychic vampirism. In its most dangerous form, it can include the organized activities of predator gangs, criminal groups, and drug trafficking networks.

More vampire faqs

1. Do you just automatically know if you are a vampire?

No, not necissarly. Most vampires tend to doubt they are for a very long time, off and on. Some never accept it, some never know (latent vampires).

2. Are you really allergic to the sun?

Not allergic, per-se, but more sensistive to it then the average person. We sunburn more easily, and it affects our eyes worse (headaches/migraines).

3. Are there any vampires that are against feeding off of humans? If so, how do they go about feeding?

Some vampires feed solely on animal blood, or make do solely with blood-substitutes.

4. How can you tell if someone around you is actually a vampire?

Really, you can't. Most vampires are normal people who have normal jobs and look like everyone else.

5. If vampires have better night vision, can you do things like read a book in the dark, or see when it's pitch black?

Once our eyes have time to adjust, many vampires see much better in dim lighting and near-darkness than the average person, but we cannot see in pitch black. There needs to be at least a small amount of light -- light filtering in from beneath a door, star or moon light, etc. -- for us to see. On the flip side, a "normal" level of lighting is much brighter to us than to your average person; if they think it's bright, to us it's blinding. Many vampires report the same, although this does not seem to be universal.

Vampires also tend to rely on their other senses when it's dark.

6. What are your other vampiric qualities?

Generally the need for blood/energy is the only vampiric quality...the rest are secondary. Including things like sensitivity to light/sound, sensitivity to the sun, increased tendencies toward migraines, excessive thirst/hunger, and a nocturnal cycle.

7. You said that being a vampire can be defined as someone who needs blood. From what I know, a vampire is someone who needs pranic energy. The best source of this is in fresh blood but you don't neccessarily need blood. Am I completely wrong?

Some vampires need blood, some just need energy, whatever type. Others can use either blood or just energy. It all depends on what works for the individual vampire.

I've written this report to help others understand the true concept of a vampire not all of the common misconceptions that are placed in people's minds because of movies and some fiction and i emphasize the word FICTION because not all vampires are from hell or are evil.

Re: Vampires
O.K i don't the whole evil, blood sucking vampires exsiet. I think vampireism is more of a sophisticated race of people that belive in a twisted (yet totally correct and good) way of life. . . how drinking blood came about, i don't know. (reliogus purposes ?). I'm not a genius, just someone with an opinon

Re: Vampires
vampireism isn't anything reliogus, because Vampire's care what every one else call satan's children. If they beilieved in god, they wouldn't be children of the darkness. But yeah, some are reliogus but only in a small way. Besides, most Vampires aren't evil. Every one say's they are because of the Hollywood movies. I mean I'm not evil...right now. ^-^
