There are four types of turtles: terrapians, sea turtles, turtles, and tortoises.

Tortoises: stick to just about land. Most of the time these guys get pretty big, but not all like the Galopogas turtles. Legs sometimes appear more stubby than turtles. They're also found more in deserts.

Terrapians: these are odd kinds of turtles. They live in ponds and other small bodies of water, but don't have fins! They're a bit like fresh water sea turtles.

Sea turtles: They are very large compared to a regular turtle. Many are endangered because of their beautiful shells. They live in the sea obviously. They cannot really use their shell, and have flippers! They come out from sea only to lay eggs, which are then abandoned. Out of a nest of about forty or so; one male and one female will live.

Turtles: They live on both water and land. They can be found nearly everywhere.
