The show was started in 1998 by Bonnie Turner, Terrie Turner, and Mark Brazill.
Trivia:
- In the episode where we see Fez's first day at school, Hyde asks him what his name is. As he is saying his name, the school bell rings the whole time and Hyde says, "Yea, I'm never going to remember that." Fez was actually stating the first names of all the actors on the show, with "Ashton Kutcher" as the first name he states.
- Fes(z) stands for foreign exchange student.
- Of all the Fox sitcoms that appeared during the 98-99 season, this was the only survivor.
- Though many references are made to Fez's country of origin, it has never been named.
- Point Place is a fictional suburb of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
- Mila Kunis was only 14 when she auditioned for the show. When producers asked her age, she misled them by saying, "Well, I'll be 18 on my birthday," and neglected to say which birthday.
- An early idea during the show's development phase had Eric and Hyde fighting a bitter rivalry over Donna, but the idea was tossed out as the show and its characters developed.
- Lisa Robin Kelly, who played Laurie when the show debuted, was fired during the second season. She just stopped appearing in episodes and was cut from the opening credits.
- The cars are:
- Eric's: 1969 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser.
- Red and Kitty's: 1976 Toyota Corolla.
- Hyde's 1967 Chevy El Camino.
- Kelso has had three cars on the series, so far. A Dodge van, and a Volkswagen Samba Bus, both mid-'60s models. He currently (2005) seen driving an MG convertible.
- The fifth season episode titles are all Led Zeppelin song titles, the sixth season are all The Who songs, the seventh season are all Rolling Stones songs and the 8th season's titles are all Queen songs.
- The show was initially titled "Teenage Wasteland" and later "The Kids Are Alright". However, because both names were references to songs by The Who, legal issues prevented their use. As a result, the show was eventually announced as "Feelin' Alright", but because that name had few supporters, a search for a new title began. After noticing that audience members in focus groups would say, "I like that show about the '70s", or "I like that '70s show" it was eventually decided to simply call the series "That '70s Show".

the producers of that 70s show should never have fired lisa robin kelly(laurie)she was the PERFECT person to play the part of laurie.she added a great deal to the show and the show was seriously reduced in quality when she left. the new laurie adds absolutely nothing.they should just have dealt with lisa's problems.she would totally have been worth it.i am very dissapointed as i am a huge fan of the show.
I must admit as a brit and only catching the few episodes I can on my 6 monthly visits to my best friend I love the show, it so reminds me of my friends big brothers and sisters in the 70's.... Yep I am that old!

Love the color combo! I would have to say Hyde is the sexiest character, and Red is the funniest. But...you know Randy? i really don't like him intervening in the story now! It's just not the same anymore...
