How can anyone resist him? Those eyes.  That hair.  He's so pretty...  No wonder they call him The Bod! Sean Maher is best known for his role as Simon Tam of the short-lived Sci-Fi drama, Firefly. Before he stole his sister from a naughty oppressive intergalatic government and took off into the sky as Dr. Tam, Sean was just another ordinary kid at summer camp when an experience in theatre inspired him to become an actor. Born in Westchester, New York on April 16, 1975, Sean graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama.

His first television role was on the Fox series entitled Ryan Caulfield: Year One. It was cancelled after the first two episodes. Despite the failure of the show, Sean received favorable reviews and was cast in a recurring role on Party of Five in 2000 as Julia Salenger’s love interest. After his work on Party of Five, Sean co-starred in The Street as an ex Nay Seal turned Wall Street trader. The show was not successful. In 2001, he starred in the ABC/Disney remake of Brian’s Song.

Once again Sean would star in a television series that would be cancelled but would make him a character cherished by many. In 2002 Sean took the role of Simon Tam on another Fox show, Firefly. Sean made his feature film debut in 2004 starring in the independent film, Living UnTil the End and later starred in Wedding Wars 2006. In 2005, he reprised the role of Dr. Simon Tam in the Joss Whedon’s film, Serenity.

Sean Maher is single and splits his time between his two beloved cities, New York and Los Angeles.
