India
India is a country that has been there for thousands of years. Taken over by Alexander the Great, the Moguls, the Aryans, and the British, it was a valuable place to colonize. India used to be rich in Gold, and is still is. European nations wanted to concure it for spices. In the early 1900s, Gandhi peacefully gained independence to India. Many civil rights activists followed the same strategy of peacefulness. An example of a follower is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today, India is still a third world country, though booming economy and tremendous population is present. India is the perfect place to go on vacation, with ancient sites to see, and a lot of luxurious pampering in hotels that cost more than a thousand American dollars per night.
India is an important territory in strategic fighting. A few days ago, the United States' President Bush and India's Prime Minister Singh made a civil nuclear contract.
India is the world's biggest democracy, because of it's 1 billion people. China, though the most populous nation, is not a democracy, but a communist country.
India has many allies and enemies. Some friends are Russia, recently the US, and many other first world countries.
India has fought against the Chinese and Pakistan, for territory in Kashmir.

I have been to India twice in the last 4 yrs
I love the people and the great history and reglion on the place.
once you are over the crowds you can't be stopped.
