Hey everyone! Well those who already know me, know that Green Day is a big part of me! I've been a fan since I was about 12 years old, all the way back to 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. So but of course I must add something here. First some general information on the boys, and then fun picture. I have TONS of pictures, so if you want to see more just ask!

Full Versioned Bio:

Green Day is a Crazy,Pop,Rock,Punk,Emo band. The members of the band are Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt (born Michael Pritchard), and Tre` Cool (born Frank Edwin Wright III). At the age of 12, Tre` Cool became a member of the band The Lookouts.

Their album attracted some attention, and Tre` began performing at an early age at the Berkeley, California punk club 924 Gilman Street. In 1987, Armstrong (15 years old) and Dirnt (16 years old) formed The Sweet Children, with Armstrong on lead vocals and guitar and Dirnt on bass and backing vocals. They began playing in 1988 at Rod's Hickory Pit in Rodeo, California. In 1989, the Children renamed themselves Green Day, after their first semi-successful song. They soon added Al Sobrante (born John Kiftmeyer), and went looking for a record deal.

While in 1988 and 1989 Armstrong formed Green Day and The Sweet Children and started touring for the first time with all the albums on tour like in Atlanta, part of L.A., New York and Canada.

The Lookouts were performing on punk label Lookout! Records, headed by Lookouts lead Lawrence Livermore. Green Day signed with Lookout in 1989, and released their first EP, 1,000 Hours and Slappy in 1990. The next year, they produced the album 39/Smooth and released it in 1991. Al Sobrante left the band at this point, and was replaced by Tre`

Green Day kicked off a national tour the day after Dirnt graduated from high school in 1990 before Slappy, then returned to the studio to produce their second album, Kerplunk, in 1992. The group signed with Reprise Records in April 1993, leaving Lookout on friendly terms. They released their first Reprise album, Dookie, in February 1994. Within a couple of months, extensive MTV airplay for the videos "Welcome to Paradise" and "Longview" had established the album, and the band, as successes.

The band joined the lineups of both the Lollapalooza Festival and Woodstock 1994. Green Day's Woodstock gig included a gigantic mud fight between the band and the audience, leading to a melee which led to Dirnt's losing his front teeth.

They recorded a single called "J.A.R." in 1995, and followed it up with the album Insomniac. Though the album didn't approach the success of Dookie, it still sold several million copies in the U.S. Their third major label album, Nimrod, was released in 1997, and Warning in 2000.

In 2003 (during time spent in the Studio) a New Wave band has appeared on the Scene, known as The Network. This 5 piece band, at first look/listen appears to be Green Day. The front man "Fink" bears a striking resemblance to one Wilhelm Fink (Billie Joe Armstrong's Pseudonym).

Fighting burnout after Warning, the band went into the studio to write and record new material for an album. After completing 20 tracks - an impressive album according to those few who heard it - the master tapes were stolen from the studio. The band chose not to try to re-create the stolen album but instead started over with a vow to be even more ambitious.

Billie Joe Armstrong(vocals,guitar)

Billie Joe Armstrong was brought into this world on February 17, 1972, the youngest of six children. His father was a jazz musician and a truck driver, while his mother was a waitress at a local resturant named Rod's Hickory Pit as well as a huge country music fan. Billie started singing when he was just 5 years old. He would go around to hospitals and sing to the patients to make them feel better. Then he got to record his first song, "Looking for Love" at a local recording company named Fiat Records. Billie's father finally decided to give him an electric guitar, the infamous "Blue". Billie still uses Blue to this day and has several replicas of it. The guitar would be the last gift his father would ever give him. At the age of 10, Billie's father died of cancer to the esphogaus which spread throughout his body. His mother continued to work at Rod's Hickory Pit in Vallejo, California, to support herself and her six kids. Billie Joe and Mike later worked there as busboys.

Billie was 10 when he met Mike Dirnt in the school cafeteria in 1982. Then him and his two brothers Matt and Eric were introduced to punk rock. Soon Billie, Mike, and a drummer named John formed a punk band and named themselves Sweet Children. One day before his 18th birthday, and halfway through his senior year of high school, Billie dropped out of school to devote all his time to Sweet Children. He knew what he wanted to do: play music. John soon left the band to attend college, so a new drummer named Tre Cool was recruited. Later, Sweet Children was renamed Green Day. Before they knew it, they were traveling all over the country with little money and staying at fan's houses. It was in Minneapolis in 1990 when Billie first laid eyes on his future wife, a girl named Adrienne Nesser. They dated awhile and then were married on July 2, 1994, a 5 minute ceremony. The day after their wedding, Adrienne found out she was pregnant. Their son, Joseph Marcicano Armstrong, was born in March of 1995. Three years later on September 12, 1998, another boy, Jakob Danger was added to the Armstrong family. Today, Billie, Adrienne, Joseph, and Jakob reside in Berkeley, California.

Mike Drint(bass)

Michael Ryan Pritchard, now known as Mike Dirnt, was born on May 4, 1972 into poverty. Mike's mother was a herion addict. He was given up for adoption when he was a baby. During his childhood, he went between familes for awhile. When Mike was just 6 years old, his foster parents got divorced, so Mike settled with his adoptive mother and older sister. Mike met Billie when they were in 5th grade in the school cafeteria, and they have been best friends ever since. Eventually, Mike even rented a room in Billie's house, and worked along side of Billie's mom at Rod's Hickory Pit. Both Billie and Mike were fascinated by punk rock music, and later the pair formed Sweet Children. Unlike Billie, Mike earned good grades in high school, and he even completed some courses at a local community college.

Mike married his long time girlfriend Anastasia in 1996 and their daughter, Estella-Desiree was born in April 1997. Mike loves his daughter very much, and his nickname for her is "Hero". Today, Mike and Anastasia are separated, but still remain very good friends. I have also heard that Mike is engaged for a second time. He currently resides in Oakland, California. Click here to view a photo of Mike and his daughter, Estella.

Tre` Cool(drums)

Frank Edwin Wright III, now known as Tre Cool, was born December 9, 1972. He lived in Willits, California with his dad and 2 siblings. His dad built houses in the area, including that of Lookout! Records owner Laurence Livermore. At age 12, Tre joined Livermore's band The Lookouts. Evenually, when John Kriftmeyer decided to leave Green Day, Livermore suggested Tre as their new drummer. Billie Joe and Mike grabbed at the opportunity to have Tre in the band.

Tre married his long time girlfriend Lisea Lyons in March of 1995, and soon had a daughter named Ramona. Him and Lisea are divorced now, but Tre has remarried in May of 2000, to a girl named Claudia. Claudia and him have a son named Frankito. Tre still lives in Oakland, California with his family.
