Ewan Gordon McGregor was born March 31, 1971 and spent much of his childhood in the "haggis and heather" town of Crieff, Scotland. He was inspired to become an actor by his uncle, Denis Lawson, who starred in Scottish movies (Local Hero) and West End musicals (Mr. Cinders) and was also in the first three Star Wars films. "He had long hair, beads and a furry waistcoat. I aspired to be as different as he seemed to me," McGregor says of his uncle. At sixteen, Ewan left Crieff to study drama for a year at Kirkcaldly in Fife, then enrolled at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama for a three-year course. Right before graduating he snagged the role of Private Mick Hopper in Dennis Potter's 1993 six-part Channel 4(UK) series Lipstick on Your Collar and left to pursue his promising acting career. The series was not a success but that didn't stop Ewan from pursuing his goals. He got a bit role in Bill Forsyth's Being Human and then left for France to play the lead role of Julien Sorel in Ben Bolt's major three-part BBC adaptation of Stendah's Scarlet and Black. Ewan's breakthrough role was that of Alex Law in Shallow Grave. With the cult success of Shallow Grave, Ewan went on to star in the sultry erotic film The Pillow Book. But it was his powerful anti-heroic performance as Mark Renton in Trainspotting that really made him a star.

After the brilliant success of Trainspotting, Ewan moved on to other fascinating and challenging film roles; he was the pigeon keeper Billy in Little Voice, coal miner and horn player Andy in Brassed Off, hot Glam rocker Curt Wild in Velvet Goldmine, and quirky kidnapper Robert in A Life Less Ordinary. Ewan soon won the role of the young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the three Star Wars prequels. As Christian in the musical Moulin Rouge and later as the sexualy charged Joe Taylor in Young Adam , Ewan displays an ability to take on any type of role and bring characters to life like few actors can.

WOW!

Ewan McGregor is AWESOME!!!!

I still can't believe I watched Velvet Goldmine at one point...  eww. lol

Re: Ewan Mcgregor
Thank you for correcting the Trainspotting quote.  I couldn't find it anywhere on line, so I just went by memory.

I love Velvet Goldmine!  Mainly because we get to see more of Ewan (penis waving on stage) than we do usually.  He was also very steamy in "Young Adam" -- when I get the chance I'll post more filmography.

Hmmm... Is there some way I can get the background image of Ewan to show up better?  The pix keep covering up his face.  Maybe I'll try to fix that right now...

Re: Ewan Mcgregor
Hahah, not a problem.  I have the same thing in the Trainspotting wiki, and I know almost the whole dialogue to the screenplay... hehe

Velvet Goldmine, I would've been able to enjoy it if someone warned me what parts of it was about.  But it caught me offguard. lol

I'm thinking, as far as the background image on the content...  I would suggest probably, using a larger number for the div style="margin: XXem..  a four would probably work.  Either that or...  move the pics around?  I'll look into it though.

Re: Ewan Mcgregor
I just messed around a bit with the pix.  It should look better now.

If not, I'll fuss with it later.  I'm tired and gotta go home!  I've spent waaaaaaay too much time on this...

But you know how that goes.

Re: Ewan Mcgregor
In worse case scenarios, I manually had to resize the pics and do my own thumbnails. lol

You're not the only one though.  It took me almost all NIGHT to do the Neon Genesis Evangelion from scratch, changing the headerpic that was once there. heh

Re: Ewan Mcgregor
I think I've got this page fixed now.  However, I took a few cues from what you did with the Neon Genesis Evangelion Wiki page and started the Twin Peaks page.  I played a bit with more images.  Let me know what you think.  More to come later!

Re: Ewan Mcgregor
I think it looks great!  I love the background you used in Twin Peaks, too

The two wiki's I spent most of my time on, discovering a bunch of selectors that can actually be modified outside of the #pcontent (bottomnav, etc) are Neon Genesis Evangelion and Fooly Cooly.  They both link together because they have the same production team and both of them point to the [adult swim] wiki page (which needs major updating... hehe).

I just got done with Fooly Cooly, and I made the bottom nav look as if it didn't have the default MindSay blue / teal color on it.  hehe
