Duran Duran

March 10, 1984, Philadelphia Spectrum. My best friend and I joined thousands of screaming girls to see the Fab Four! When they first appeared on stage, we screamed until we became lightheaded. "Oh my, God! It's them!" "I'm breathing the same air as John!" "Look at Nick's hair!" I laugh now as I write this, because I realize how imbalanced we were. We were so obsessed with D2 that we sickened all of our family and friends. We talked of nothing else. The walls of our rooms looked much like the wallpaper of this site. I wrote a story about how we met John and Nick, and how (of course) they fell in love with us and took us away to NYC. Tina and I still talk about that book. I still have all my magazine cut-outs and my concert ticket. What a great ride that was. 

I've been a fan of D2 since 1981 when I first heard "Planet Earth" on college radio.  I was 11.  They still never cease to amaze and attract me, but I no longer scream for them like I did when I was young.  I saw them for the first time in concert in Milwaukee the summer of 1987.  Ah, memories...!

Oh, and I designed the background for this page.  I wanted to make it just like I remembered my bedroom walls, too.  Funny how you noticed!!!
