Welcome to the Chicago White Sox page, Mindsay home for the 2005 World Series Champions.

Over the past 12 months, the White Sox have exceeded every White Sox fan's expectations by not only winning the American League Central Division, but also silencing every critic across the nation and storming through the 2005 post-season, dominating every team set in their path. Starting with the powerful Boston Red Sox, the White Sox made quick work of them with a Game 1 blowout, a come-from-behind victory against former White Sox pitcher David Wells in Game 2 and a Game 3 win at Fenway Park with an absolutely stunning relief appearance by Orlando Hernandez with no outs and the bases loaded.

From there, the White Sox faced the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. After a Game 1 loss and the controversial Game 2 win to even the series, the White Sox walked into Angel Stadium and simply dominated the Angels who were the early favorites. With 4 complete game wins by the White Sox starting rotation of Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland, Freddy Garcia and Jose Contreras, the Angels went from pennant favorites to another victim in the White Sox path to glory.

From there, destiny called. The Chicago White Sox faced off against the equally talented Houston Astros in what has been called "the most exciting World Series sweep in history". Though the White Sox won four straight to become the 2005 World Series champions, the Houston Astros more than proved their worth as serious opponents. Through 4 very close and intense games, both teams battled back and forth but ultimately, it was the White Sox balance that proved to be more dominant. In the end, Chicago finally has a team to call "champions".

Not content to be a one-off championship team, the White Sox have bolstered their lineup and improved their pitching with full intent of attempting to repeat 2005's success. Jim Thome of the Philadelphia Phillies was brought aboard as the new DH in exchange for sensational outfielder Aaron Rowand. Though Aaron Rowand will be missed by fans, Jim Thome adds a massive bat to the lineup fortified by Paul Konerko, Joe Crede, Tadahito Iguchi and Jermaine Dye. Also added were utility man Rob Macowiak and Javier Vasquez.

The Chicago White Sox have had many spectacular players over the years. With names like "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, Buck Weaver, Billy Pierce, Nellie Foxx, Ron Kittle, Carlton Fisk, Ozzie Guillen, Harold Baines, Frank Thomas, Robin Ventura, "Black" Jack McDowell and so on, the White Sox have had more wins than losses since their inception. Unfortunately, the 1919 Black Sox Scandal placed the time in ruin for years to come...until now. With 2005 culminating into the most successful season in 88 years and 2006 looking brighter than ever, the White Sox have earned their way into the annals of modern baseball history by putting together an amazing 2005 campaign. As 2006 gets started, this page will be kept up to date with current happenings for the 2005 World Champs. Until that time, this page will serve as a memorial to a team that many generations have lived and died with. This page is for every White Sox fan......everywhere and anywhere.
