The Arctic Monkeys recently won a BRIT Award for Best British Breakthrough Act
The band also won 3 NME Awards at the ceremony on 24th Feb. These awards were:
*Best British Band
*Best New Band
*Best Track - 'I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor'
Alex Turner was also nominated for 'Hero of the Year' award.

I'm going to Reading Festival at the end of August and the Arctic Monkeys are headlining. I cant wait.

What ya talkin bout lol. Mr. Turner has to be the best music teacher around, if you are being taught in a creche, as he puts it. I was one of the first to find out about the Arctic Monkeys a few years ago when I was talking with Mr. Turner about his son etc. and he was telling me they planned to make it big.
I think they acheived that.

He told us the same thing aswell, probabily at roughly the same time. He's an ace teacher. Good morals, serious methods and never gives up to students. But, he is boring.
Yep. I agree, he is a good teacher. But... he can drag those 50-minute lessons on to last hours. No doubt he will be planning retirement any time soon

He can't stand the kids anymore. Personaly i couldn't blame him. The majority of us are stupid bastards. Meh, he'll retire soon anyway.

I live in Rotherham, and I (unfortunatly) have the priveledge (Ha!) of being tought music by non other than Mr Turner. Father of Arctic monkeys lead singer. You wouldn't believe how boring he is. He doesn't shut up about "When he was at school" and "When you could trust kids". But I don't really like their songs. Gotta surport the Yorkshire Pride though!
