Yugioh @ MindSay

Well everyone im afraid i some bad news.(that is if anyone even cares to read this) But im following whats in my heart.

I made a heartbreaking desicion yesterday. After almost 5 years of my life dedicated to bringing to people an alternative way to the yugioh game we all enjoy to play i had shut down my yugioh club. Why?

I'll give you 2 words: "Game Store"

Last year we were doing soo well. With the last card store's closing it finnally woke people up about my messages of warning . That we needed to start working more together to make the club's image better. It worked for awhile. Then the news of another Game Store comming back here only made the members more happy. A chance at redemption.

Yet recently through out this year the effect it started to bring to people espically new players that didnt know about my club itself to start supporting the store more and more.

Sacrificing important ways to fundraise, Little by little i lost more and more funds ment for the free prizes

( beacuase i would give 30% then it became 50% of what we fundraised to the store as "store support". Money i would help work for while they just sat back and collect it.) ,

certain people going back to taking things for granted , and everyone just plain out ignoring my words altogether.  The club was becoming a dried up well being used up as quickly as possable and finnally we dried up thanks to no funding! 

Then last sunday everyone made it clear to me..give all the clubs money we earn from now on to the store and everyone made it anounomous to me last sunday that they want pay to play tournaments..the very thing that i dont do.

Except for one person out of a good 20 people there..no one else came to my defense not even the owner of the store! I finnally realized it..this is a game store and what the people want to happen at the store.

My club can't coexist with a store.

And theres a reason why...its called Greed.

No loyalty! Questioning "How much do you contribute to the store!?."

Everyone baiscaly wants the biggest piece of the pie, the best tournament winning deck and will do whatever it takes to get it.  Lie,Cheat and Stealing! Many people including parents have no idea how hard its becoming just to have the cards they need to play. Im talking like $50 bucks to even $100s of dollars just to buy 1 card crictically needed to complete a deck.

Its one of the many reasons i personally never wanted to have my club at a store. I knew this was going to happen. It wasnt  just a matter of time but when.

The first time we did it was a  great cooperation..but this time around it was just plain disator.

At a store you can't enforce your club's rules and even if you kick em out( and for me it takes some very good reasons) they can easly revolt and still get to come  back to the store the same day while you cant do nothing about it!

Even as the leader who helps bring players to the store no matter how much you sincerly ask or pled they wont help you enforce your rules because they are a "valued customer".

Theres just no more balance anymore.

I'm not mad at the owners of the store there good people and I'm not quiting the game. I love the game!

I just know that I cant go back there i made up my mind and I'm taking a stand for myself. I'm not going to be a part of that.

Sure life will go on for me and people wont care the'll be back there next sunday for there pay to plays.

Will the store succeed in the new direction? How it all ends only time will tell. But I can also tell you this.

Im a paitent person and time is my friend.

Last sunday man was i drained when it was over but it was worth it.

My yugioh club had our very 1st Auction Day(were only doing this once a month) ! Forget ebay lol it was just a great time just doing it live!!:D

 People kept donating me yugioh cards to fundraise and as soon as one card sold they would use their portion of an auction win just the win the next one. We raised about 61.00. Thats the best fundraising ive ever done in one day for our club ever and we needed it. No more debts to repay..were now back in the positives and i hope to keep it going that way.

I just feel soo good and i cant wait for this weekend to see what fun i intend to do next when dueling opponents and trading. ttyl

Well due to a breach of payment agreement ebay shafted me and took off my items due to the fact i cant accept cash payments anymore! Whoops. Well to make it worse they insist i upgraded my account to accepy methods of paypal. Well its not a total loss and hopefully our club can now get this ball rolling in the right course. Man i hope we can pull this off but if we do starting this weekend our yugioh club will be on YOUTUBE!!!

Thats right youtube! I know some of you may be thinkng so what...but for me and this club its gonna be a gaigantic step in getting more club promotions and hopefully encourage more people around the houston/galveston region to come check us out!

Man i gotta say...after today im done doing my club at the local grocery store. I sware man i just cant stand majority of the people that go in.

Here i am the nice guy i am just asking in a polite tone of voice.."hey hows it going today sir? " Showing nothing but common curtisy. But these people..they dont take me serious, they plan out just ignore me, like i dont even exsit, and just to plain out face it the stores going down the drain.Its only a matter of time i can just smell it. I'm not trying to be mean to the store owners and i meen theyve been nothing but nice..but its the customers..i just cant do it anymore.

4 years! 4 years of doing my yugioh club and this is what i get for it!? I would think by now our club would be doing soo much better. Comunity support. honerable mentions!! But thats just not the case when it comes to the regular joes going in that very store!

Anyways its not a total loss for us i just need to come up with a good plan. I can beat this problem and with the help of our club i know we can. But im tired of the disrespect.
