[shrink or swim]
The following was my entry for the Haiku - Television category of the now-defunct Yearbook '06 competition.

"Start from the top, Carl.
You live next to a Meatball,
a Shake and French Fries?"

Yearbook '06 ; Haiku - Television

One of the categories on the now defunct yearbook06 was Haiku- Television. Write a haiku related to one of your favorite television shows.

We all know that poetry, unfortunately, is definitely not my forte. I had fun with this assignment, though, and decided to inflict...erm, I mean, share some of these with you.

I have no idea which one I entered, so here's a couple of my "Lost" haiku.

souls tossed on rocky shores

saved, savior? the island knows.

not all Lockes have keys.

four eight fifteen six

teen twenty three fourty two

good? evil? the island knows.

bright sun and tan bods

monster, numbers, and hatches

Lost with Sawyer? Please!

[the clerk]
This was my Limerick - Free Form  entry from the short-lived Yearbook '06 project.  Enjoy!  [tR]

I purchased a Cartman at Spencer's.
The sales rep was soaking his dentures.
Then much to my fright
He tried as he might
To say "Ohp yew ab maey abentyuhs."

[exit strategy]
The following was my entry for '50-Word Fiction - Prompted' category of the now-dead Yearbook '06 competition.  The entry was required to include the words 'fortified', 'lad', and 'indeed'.  I want to focus my energy on tomorrow's Creativity Exchange, so you'll just have to settle for leftovers today, my friends.  Tune in tomorrow for something fresher.  [tR]

[exit strategy]

“...Troops everywhere...heavily fortified...gunfire...explosions...so much blood...”

“Easy there, lad!  Start from the top. Where are you?”

“Pinned down, Captain...thirty clicks south near the old cave...”

“According to our map, you are indeed screwed.  No matter.  That level is a beast.”

“Shall I reset the game, sir?”

disappointments of the day
Just got the news about yearbook06 ...and it's very disappointing. I do believe that there were so many more options than just throwing it all to the wind. I submitted one very puny haiku...but that doesn't matter. Other people contributed much more than myself. It could have been published in a newsletter. It could have been the prize of a balloon with tinsel. Many didnt' care what it was, just as long as it was.

anyway here is my entry for haiku:

the moonlight cascades
shadows of a tilted face
in a memory

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
There are still people breeding their children to believe in racism and violence against any race that is not their own. I wish to God that I could delve into their cultural backgrounds and give them the shock of their life. Pure white race my eyeball...see this article.

They atest as to why people think homeschoolers produce weird maladjusted children.
