Breasty Facts:
BOOB: The word "boob" traces from the Spanish bobo meaning stupid, which in turn comes from the Latin balbus meaning stammering. The ancient Romans considered stammering to be a sign of stupidity. ( So in essence, every time a MAN says he is a BOOB MAN...he is saying he is a STUPID Man! LMAO!)
Chicken Breast: It is considered a WHITE meat. This is not racial profiling folks, it is actually because the chicken is LAZY. Dark meat, which avian myologists (bird muscle scientists) refer to as "red muscle," is used for sustained activity--chiefly walking, in the case of a chicken. The dark color comes from a chemical compound in the muscle called myoglobin, which plays a key role in oxygen transport.
White muscle, in contrast, is suitable only for short, ineffectual bursts of activity such as, for chickens, flying. That's why the chicken's leg meat and thigh meat are dark and its breast meat (which makes up the primary flight muscles) is white. Other birds more capable in the flight department, such as ducks and geese, have red muscle (and dark meat) throughout.
Booby TRAP: Haven't we all fallen into a snare or two? Why is it called a BOOBY trap? A 'booby trap' was originally understood to be a practical joke - not necessarily anything dangerous.
