Words @ MindSay

There's No one like our Glob! No one at all.
At least according to the preschoolers at A-way christian academy. Its amazing at some of the things kids come up with. And the kids that sing the loudest are the least sure of the words. or rather, sure of the wrong words.Preschoolers are just Soooo funny. When we were working on the "GOD from A-Z"project we got stuck on X. One of the two year olds looked at me real seriously and said "X-ray eyed" . when I asked what she meant she said "he see my heart." Kinda like, "duh, how did you not know that?" Out of the mouths of toddlers! I love working preschool.

and tediousness the limbs

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?

~Hamlet, Act III, Scene 1

My new fascination.  Not only did I enjoy the series, but now I am digging up my old Shakespeare books and reading through them (mind you, I only read these in the privacy of my own home, as I am of the firm conviction that plays are meant to be... experienced... rather than merely read).  I've received a bit of grief from the dear ones who know about this new reading track ("Who reads Shakespeare just for fun?!").  But it is worth it.  I love chewable words.  And I always find some new novel turn of phrase to chortle over.  Even in his tragedies, the Bard was a comedic genius.

I have been comissioned to write a few pieces myself.  Nothing so lofty as Hamlet or King Lear -- a handful of comedic skits for our late fall/early winter retreat. I have one due in a few weeks -- a fun way to reintroduce our simple rules of youth group.  I wrote one last year that seemed to be a hit -- hopefully I can scrape together another one just as rollicking.

Some dear ones are also pestering me about my writing (well, I did ask to be held accountable).  I've been politely dusting them aside, with "yes, yeses" and "Well, I'm journaling again, that's a step forward, don't you think?"

But reading and hearing such chewable words as the Bard provides is certainly an inspiration.  Plus I've had many encounters with words lately that have reminded me just how much power they hold over my life, and how long I've desired to wield power over them.  I've made a few scrabbling attempts for my own amusement -- and they have been a success.  For I have been amused.  Those words may never enjoy another pair of eyes delighting in them, but for now, they are serving their purpose.  I am feeling creative again.

Which means I am feeling like me again.

For now, you shall have to content with my dashed off grammatically faulty nonsense this blog provides.  For at least I'm attempting to entertain myself with bits'n'bobs throughout the week.  Even if I realize how dreadfully small and simplistic my life truly is.

But that's ok.  I'm happy.

Oh.  And I might start learning Greek.  Talk about chewable words...

You're harder than me.
I don't know how to illustrate this with words.

Actually, I'm not trying hard enough.
I'm not trying at all.
