It's bad enough getting our monsoon storms for a couple months of the year. We had one the other night that was really bad. Winds up to at least 90 mph in some places, hail, lots of thunder and lightning, etc. Plenty of people lost power, and lots of trees were downed. The ASU football team's brand-new practice facility was destroyed. My cat got really frightened, as he usually does during storms, and hid in the kitchen where there are no windows. I got up in the middle of the night, during the storms, to get a drink, and I tripped over the poor little boy. So last night, when we got some more (milder) storms, Murray hid in the kitchen pantry, out of the way of foot traffic. :-)
In other news, I had the handyman come out today to see about hanging my drapes, but they were just a tad too narrow. They were described at 50 inches wide, which would have been just about right, but turned out to be just a couple inches smaller than that in reality. So I ordered some new drapes that will have plenty of room to spare, and will return the other ones, and will have the handyman come back when the new ones come. There was no charge for his coming out today.
I have discovered a cat discussion site where they do live chats in the evenings, some about cats in general, others about specific topics such as senior cats or feral cats or pet loss. One chat is a role-playing chat where participants pretend to be their cats. I've done that one a couple times, and it was lots of fun. And challenging, since you have to do it in baby-talk, and being an editor, I'm so used to trying to be grammatically and spelling-correct all the time!
I dreamed that I sent a letter to Brett Favre telling him how selfish he was to badmouth the Packers during the off-season, and to go to another team, and all that. So the next day, I wrote down what I had pretty much dreamed up, and I actually sent the letter. I certainly don't expect a reply, and he probably won't even read it, but at least it was cathartic to write.
Yesterday, my website (and I say 'my' even though it's not really mine) retaliated by DDoS-ing the first rival site and it was down for awhile, but unfortunately, I feel that my website is going to be spammed and down for a lot longer than the other 2 rival websites. It's fucking bullshit!
And what pisses me off even more is that the owner of my website bitched to all of the members because we weren't doing anything to stop the attacks. It's not our responsibility! It's his damn site! Plus, he told everyone that he didn't agree with us attacking other sites and now he's pissed because we're not! What the fuck?! I just want to browse the damn thing in peace!
It has been a mad rush week. I've done some work on my own website, so that I can get it ready for the release of the album. I've changed some of the information. Put some more links in. I have also added an email registration on my home page, so that anyone can register for updates on the progress of the album.
I pointed out that the email address will only be used for album updates, and will not be given to anyone else. I've also put that same registration on another website.
So now I can confidently share my web address. I've been running it for a few years already, but I haven't done much with it up to now :)
Anyway. Here it is. My website:
There is a music player on there that has got a selection of songs that I've created over the last 4 years. I could have removed them, because the recording quality is not very good on some, and the vocals are less than perfect on a number of them. However, I want to leave them there for a while to show where my recordings started, and all the flaws with it.
Now this next bit is very interesting. I was contacted by a friend on Youtube, who had started up a live internet TV channel, and he asked if he could feature my tracks on his shows. I agreed, of course. He informed that when the first show aired, it received over 1,000 viewers in the first 3 hours!!!
Here is a link to his live channel:
This guy needs some more original music videos for his channel, so if you write your own stuff, and want it aired on a live internet broadcast channel, then go to the link above and contact him via his email address. It could provide you with some essential exposure, just like it has for me :)
Finally I'll finish up with the Youtube figures.
I got 2 more subscribers, but then I lost 2 :( So it remains 681.
The channel views are now at 15,146.
There has been another few thousand views to all of my videos so that figure now stands at 229,501.

"What you won't hear, from this campaign or this party is the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge, and patriotism as a bludgeon --that sees our opponents not as competitors to challenge, but enemies to demonize. Because we may call ourselves Democrats and Republicans, but we are Americans first. We are always Americans first." Barack Obama, June 3, 2008
My old domain is now being used by another, a savvy company that buys up expired domains and uses them for advertising! But that's my own fault! So my new one is similar... but subtly different! he he!
I managed to find a host for my site which offers some sweet features and add-ons, including the site's own blog, message board, file sharing, and sub domains! I'll be busy learning how to incorporate all these new capabilities into Our Enchanted Garden and will update everyone here and on my facebook page .Yup - I've even set up a page at facebook to promote my work and the website! Hey, come by for a visit, become a fan, post a message on the Garden Wall or start a discussion - what cool community can we all build with such useful tools? I love playing with these toys! As things begin to take shape, perhaps you can even help with debugging things as they go up ! Any volunteers?
Hope to see all my friends around and about! And hope you're all finding magic in your days! ;-)
