Walmart @ MindSay
Now I’m not one of those people who boycotts Wal-Mart. This is fine if you do, I have a friend who refuses to go, because of the way they treat their employees. But my sister worked there, as did one of my best friends (and her husband still works there) and none of them have had any major issues with Wal-Mart. This and the fact that I am what you could affectionately call “thrifty” or more honestly describe as “cheap,” is why I am such a fan of Wal-mart. I mean where else can you get pretty much everything you need, all for 25% cheaper than regular grocery stores? As much as I like Wal-Mart, I have this rule; I refuse to go anytime later than 9am. Now let me explain this. I believe that the other customers at Wal-Mart are there for the express purpose of annoying me. They are there to try my patience. To drive me insane. I prefer to shop when these people are still asleep. So I did my usual Saturday morning routine, get up early and go to Wally World to do my weekly grocery shopping. In and out before 8am. I get home, put things away and then realize that I forgot something, uh oh. Hmm, what to do? Do I really need it bad enough to go back? I unwisely decide to break my own rule and go back, stupid choice Kristy. By this time it’s after 11am. Let me preface this by saying that I am normally a very patient person. At least I thought I was; now I’m not so sure. I noticed that I became a completely different person. Some of the thoughts that ran through my mind were;
"Watch it bitch, you can’t just cut in front of me like that."
"Sheesh dude, take up the entire freakin aisle, why dontcha. How rude."
"Ok if that kid doesn’t get out of my way, I’ll give him something to really cry about."
"Kids should not be allowed in public places!"
"Hey, Ms.-I-shouldn’t-be-wearing-that-in-public, stop prowling for your next baby daddy long enough to watch where you’re going."
I suppose this is just the price you pay for trying to save a little money. As for the purpose of this story….I don’t know. I think I just needed to rant.
Then I went to Walmart and checked the price - and guess what. There are 10 packets in the box, for only $2. The 14-count box is a fraction deeper but otherwise, the boxes are the same. Wow! I'm going to return the box to Target. For $4 I could have gotten 20 packets at Walmart, which is nearly 50% as much for the same price. Walmart didn't have the 14-count box.
Also, I did check on the All-Bran fiber drink mix at Walmart - sure enough, they have only the 10-count box for $4.59, while Food Lion has only the 8-count box, for $3.99. But the boxes are exactly the same size.
And the prices keep going up. I can't afford to shop anywhere but Walmart, except for the weekly "loss leaders" at Bi-Lo and Food Lion. A LOT of Bi-Lo's prices are higher than Walmart even with a doubled coupon. Now that's just wrong.
The average Walmart shopper usually go into the store and make the necessary purchases without noticing any of the natural surroundings of that store. A natural surrounding can be that high school cheerleading squad doing a fundraiser gig with their Krispy Kreme Donuts, a tantrum filled 3 year old who is set on trying out his new Taekwondo techniques on his frustrated mother, or the forever faithful Walmart Greeter who is set on giving you that shopping cart even if means running over your heals with it. As of now I would like to concentrate on the latter, I consider myself to be a slightly above average individual and maybe that is why on my trips to Walmart I always notice that Walmart Greeter more so than the average hurried shopper. I have a great job; although the politics of it is currently giving me the urge to run for my life and apply for that Walmart Greeter position that everyone tends to shun. I do not know how the future is going to visit me but in the mean time I will consider my options and if and when I decide to become a Walmart Greeter----- please notice me.
Hey all. Went to band concert today. We missed two days of school last week. And I thought we would do really bad with lack of rehersals, but it was ok. Not bad, but not great.
Gang consisted of Maddy, Caitlin, Angela.
Went to McDonalds, to Preston watch. : D
YAY!
He is soooooooo hoooottt....
: O
But maddy has dibs, so if I must, I will take her sloppy seconds.
: D
Ummm...Then after McDonalds, we went to WalMart, because it is Walmart, and it is COOL to be seen at Walmart. At least in Upper...We are a small town. Lots of incest, and everyone knows everyone. I am not part of the incestual circle though...My family moved here.
: -)
Anyways, I got a summer purse because the one I carry around all the time is getting REALLY worn out. It is muy adorable.
And then we went to Arby's, so we could stalk Luke. He isn't that cute, but his behind did look good in those wranglers...Mhmmm...
And I almost wet my pants about 4 times. Angela didn't shut the Tempo door right( my car is picky) and we ended up taking off, and the door swung open while driving. IT WAS SO FUNNY.
HAHAHAHA.
You had to be there.
Anyways.
Gots to go do chores...
Ciao,
Mariah
