Parents in New Jersey and Maryland are organizing to educate legislators about the need for informed consent and safety protections in state laws.

Sue Collins, co-founder of New Jersey Alliance for Informed Choice in Vaccination (NJAICV) reports that NJAICV is sponsoring an on-line petition to endorse support for the insertion of a conscientious belief exemption to vaccination in NJ vaccine laws. She encourages New Jersey residents to sign the petition, which lists the signer's name, town, state, comments and date signed. Go to http://www.gopetition.com/online/16754.html.
With the recent addition of 9 doses of 4 new vaccines (pneumococcal, influenza, meningococcal, Tdap) to daycare and school mandates, New Jersey became the state with the most vaccine requirements in the nation: 35 doses of 13 vaccines. The new vaccine mandates were rammed through by state health department employees last year under rule making authority and legislators did not vote on the new vaccine mandates. New Jersey has a religious and medical exemption but both exemptions are almost impossible to obtain due to opposition by state education and public health employees seeking a 100 percent vaccination rate among children.

It seems that lawmakers do not understand that freedom should include freedom from forced medications for ourselves and our children. The fact that we grant religions the right to do anything, but if not under a religious umbrella, those with strong science-based, philosophical-based or strong-personal belief get no such rights, I think this is unconscionable.
Especially when we are talking about vaccines with their known dangerous side-effects and potential unknown negative effects down the road. Here in New Jersey, home of the drug industry, we have no rights for personal medical savings accounts, no rights to purchase catastrophic health insurance, and no rights to refuse mandatory vaccinations. The drug companies hold the politicians in their financial pockets. People are led to believe in drugs and the exaggerated benefits of medical care and they do; the new religion in America—In Drugs We Trust.

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, please call Governor Corzine and ask him to reverse the recent order to add 4 new vaccines to the mandatory schedule for daycare and school admission. Two of those vaccines, Flu and Meningitis, are likely to contain mercury, a known neurotoxin. No parent should be forced to inject a neurotoxin or other questionable ingredients in other vaccines such as antifreeze and formaldehyde into their child.
Please call your legislators and ask them to sign on as sponsors for A260 or S1071 which will provide a conscientious belief exemption to vaccination.
On Wednesday, February 27, we need everyone to call the Governor’s office and their state legislators’ offices.
These calls take just a minute or two and are having an impact. Even if you have called in the past, it is crucial that you call again.

The last round of calls generated over 1000 calls to the governor opposing these mandates, they received NO calls in support. We need to keep this in the forefront.

It's like an answer to my prayers - I'm going to write letters and get involved. I don't know if I will be attending meetings to argue with gov. officials - I'm terrified and I don't think I'm that good with words. I also get really emotional when I'm nervous and talking about something I feel strongly about - I'll be a blubbering mess and that won't help anyone.
