For Fans of V for Vendetta

From www.waynemadsenreport.com :

March 31-April 1, 2007 -- "Vs" stage protest at White House. About 60 protesters dressed up as the Guy Fawkes look-a-like "V," from the movie by the same name, staged a protest at the White House yesterday. In an encouraging sign, a group of elementary school children visiting the White House on a school trip were much more interested in "V" than in the White House or its occupant. The children busied themselves taking photos of the "Vs" and shaking their hands: a clear sign that the Rove/Fox propaganda machine has little effect on those who will be left holding the tab for the recklessness of the "Baby Boomer" generation.

The protest was sponsored by www.givemeliberty.org

One angry woman, an obvious Bush supporter, said that if people protest they should show their faces. When informed that the masks were part of a movie -- the very theme of the protest -- the woman repeated herself about showing faces and then mumbled that she never heard of the movie and didn't care about it. This editor has noticed for several years that those who support George W. Bush appear to suffer all of his afflictions -- including mental retardation.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November

I can't believe I forgot it!!!

I celebrated Guy Fawkes Night by watching V for Vendetta. It's a great movie, who else watched it?

"The people should not be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of it's people."

In honor of the arrival of 9/11

As many of you by now know, I have drawn numerous parallels between the story of the movie V for Vendetta and our own late, great horror brought about on 11 September, 2001. I take a moment to honor the memory of those who have perished and suffered bereavement under the shadowy pall this day casts on our Nation.

However, let us not forget in our moment of pause that there is more to this day than the horror we all bore withness to that terrible day. Let us not allow our grief to overshadow our wits. And above all, let us remember those who knew and did not keep watch as was their job.

To those that would call us 'conspiracy theorists', let me now address myself. If you wish to understand the truth you must first know thyself. Are you indeed searching for truth? Or are you instead looking for self vindication and a firm foundation for the life you knew before the horror of 9/11?

Are you concerned with all the facts as we know them? Or are you looking to make use of the shades of grey in the hope that it will restore your faith in your government when all around you are starting to lose such faith?

I would encourage you to open your ears and eyes and look instead at the reasons and the persons who are calling those who would doubt "fabricationists". There is always a tissue of truth in any lie. But it is not always easy to decide, when faced with the stark truth and the comfortable falsehood.

Therefore, I would provoke you to such a point of decision. The longer the nation dickers over the truth as we have been told and the truth as we know from fact and evidence, the longer they have to destroy the evidence and obfuscate the truth.

Let us not be a country that is guilty of an unwillingness to face facts, but instead let us go forth and let those who would mislead us know that this November, we will remember.

And let God stand between them and their fate. Because we shall surely not.

Good evening, LondonAmerica. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security, the familiar, the tranquility, repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, thereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5thSeptember 11th, a day that is sadly no longer rememberedmisused by the government, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with gunsspin speaches and lies will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon Bush's spin and lies may be used in lieu of conversationhonest persuastion, true words and evidence will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the annunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance, and depression. And where once you had the freedom to object, think, and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler President, George W. Bush. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought Tonight I seek to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old BaileyTonight I strive to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November230 years ago, the Forefather strove to embed  freedom and justice forever in our memory. His Their hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November 11th of September to pass unmarked as more than a day of mourning. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one yearmonth from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament the voting booth, and together we shall give them a fifth 2nd of November that shall never, ever be forgot.
