The nation of Jenkemdov
Taken from Nations

We are the nation of Jenkemdov, a Democratic Socialist State located somewhere between Russia and Jordan. Our constitution holds that, on principle, a national Libertarian Communist collective holds the best benefits for the people, but should be obtained as best possible through democratic means. We hold free and fair elections and maintain a transparent governing body on all levels. Taxation without representation is criminal. For this reason we tax everyone progressively, including religious organizations that cannot clear a non-profit case with a federal judge.

We hold allegiance to any and all nations who cherish free and fair societies, observe and protect human rights, and provide shared prosperity for general welfare of their society.

We hold resistance against tyranny that is either economic, political, or otherwise. We shall never appeal to nations who exploit their poor and violate their own constitutions, and who's laws do not protect personal sovereignty.

Year of the Potato
Darnell

"The United Nations declared that 2008 is the International Year of the Potato."

Oh.

My.

God.

The article and the idea behind this whole thing is actually not bad, but man, is that an eye catcher or what? The guy who wrote this article should win some kind of journalist excellence award for catching the readers the quickest. Like you wouldn't click on a story entitled How to Celebrate the International Year of the Potato. Which, btw, can be found here.

And, of course, leave it to the good old UN, right?

Six Baha'is Arrested in Iran, lives in danger
The latest, unfortunately sad news from the Baha'i World News Service.  In reading it we can find solace, though, that from every crisis in the history of the Baha'i Faith has ultimately always come a victory!

Six Bahá'í leaders arrested in Iran; pattern matches deadly sweeps of early 1980s

15 May 2008

— Six Bahá’í leaders in Iran were arrested and taken to the notorious Evin prison yesterday in a sweep that is ominously similar to episodes in the 1980s when scores of Iranian Bahá’í leaders were summarily rounded up and killed.

The six men and women, all members of the national-level group that helped see to the minimum needs of Bahá’ís in Iran, were in their homes Wednesday morning when government intelligence agents entered and spent up to five hours searching each home, before taking them away.

The seventh member of the national coordinating group was arrested in early March in Mashhad after being summoned by the Ministry of Intelligence office there on an ostensibly trivial matter.

“We protest in the strongest terms the arrests of our fellow Bahá'ís in Iran,” said Bani Dugal, the principal representative of the Bahá’í International Community to the United Nations. “Their only crime is their practice of the Bahá’í Faith.”

“Especially disturbing is how this latest sweep recalls the wholesale arrest or abduction of the members of two national Iranian Bahá’í governing councils in the early 1980s -- which led to the disappearance or execution of 17 individuals,” she said.

“The early morning raids on the homes of these prominent Bahá’ís were well coordinated, and it is clear they represent a high-level effort to strike again at the Bahá’ís and to intimidate the Iranian Bahá’í community at large,” said Ms. Dugal.

Arrested yesterday were: Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Mr. Vahid Tizfahm. All live in Tehran. Mrs. Kamalabadi, Mr. Khanjani, and Mr. Tavakkoli have been previously arrested and then released after periods ranging from five days to four months.

Arrested in Mashhad on 5 March 2008 was Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, who also resides in Tehran. Mrs. Sabet was summoned to Mashhad by the Ministry of Intelligence, ostensibly on the grounds that she was required to answer questions related to the burial of an individual in the Bahá’í cemetery in that city.

On 21 August 1980, all nine members of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Iran were abducted and disappeared without a trace. It is certain that they were killed.

The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Iran was reconstituted soon after that but was again ravaged by the execution of eight of its members on 27 December 1981.

A number of members of local Bahá’í governing councils, known as local Spiritual Assemblies, were also arrested and executed in the early 1980s, before an international outcry forced the government to slow its execution of Bahá’ís. Since 1979, more than 200 Bahá’ís have been killed or executed in Iran, although none have been executed since 1998.

In 1983, the government outlawed all formal Bahá’í administrative institutions and the Iranian Bahá’í community responded by disbanding its National Spiritual Assembly, which is an elected governing council, along with some 400 local level elected governing councils. Bahá'ís throughout Iran also suspended nearly all of their regular organizational activity.

The informal national-level coordinating group, known as the Friends, was established with the knowledge of the government to help cope with the diverse needs of Iran’s 300,000-member Baháí community, which is the country’s largest religious minority.

It is Time for a United Nations of Democracy

Atlas Shrugs posts some excerpts that demonstrate the true nature of the United Nations. It has become a club of anti-Semitics (Atlas Shrugs term is apropos Judeophobics). The UN was creator by the victors of WWII that wished to have a global organization that promoted peace and human rights for the inhabitants of planet Earth.

As the Western Democracies became the minority to Third World dictatorships and eventual petro-dollar strong Mohammedan autocratic nations, the UN has become a global organization that dumps on the Middle Easts only viable Western Democracy with full equal Rights to all citizens of race, creed and faith Israel.

Indeed Israel was created out of the Western Guilt of allowing the Holocaust to proceed thus the Land Israel became a nation in which people of Jewish origin (practicing and non-practicing Jews) have a haven in which their government would not persecute them for being Jewish.

Jump from the modern Israeli nationhood of 1948 to the present and one can view a series of wars perpetrated by Jew hating Arabs (mostly Mohammedan but also a few secularist and dhimmified Christian Arabs) to exterminate the Jews of Israel as if they were vermin and not people. Hello memories of the Nazi Final Solution.

Look at the properties of anti-Semitism today. There is an emerging rise of anti-Semitism in Europe again. My opinion this is occurring because of the Leftist susceptibility to embrace the propaganda of Mohammedan victimization propaganda. That propaganda basically vilifies Israeli harshness toward Arabs that call themselves Palestinians yet horrifically fails to explain it is an Israeli response to terrorist action against Israel. The Mohammedan propaganda also fails to mention these Arabs not only support the terrorist acts they also aid and hide the terrorists from Israeli justice. Thus Israel often reacts to punish families or neighborhoods of the terrorists because is all the horror of accomplice to murder.

The West does not hear or read this part but only reads, hears and sees the propaganda of Mohammedan victimization.

Another seed of the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe is the influx of Mohammedan immigrants that have flocked to Europe with hatred and animosity in their hearts already planted against Jews.

And worst of all the United Nations of has become a disseminator of anti-Semitism due to the inherent nature of the majority of haters of Democracy and Jews that have rendered the original creation of the UN as a mockery.

I like the quote given in Atlas Shrugs tagged to John McCain concerning the UN:

John McCain has it exactly right when he talks about replacing the UN by a union of democracies a suggestion I have myself repeatedly made over the years.

Why is There a United Nations?

Anne Bayefsky

It is beyond me why Western Democracies continue membership in the United Nations. The U.N. Charter created by victorious Democracies over Fascism, Nazism and Japanese Imperial brutality at the end of WWII has been rendered irrelevant since the inclusion Mohammedan nations, Mohammedan sympathetic nations and despotic Third World Nations.

U.N. Charter Preamble:

WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED

* To save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and

* To reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and

* To establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and

* To promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,

AND FOR THESE ENDS

* To practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours, and

* To unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and

* To ensure, by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and

* To employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples,

HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS

Accordingly, our respective Governments, through representatives assembled in the city of San Francisco, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due form, have agreed to the present Charter of the United Nations and do hereby establish an international organization to be known as the United Nations.

Obviously this is a meaningless scrap of geopolitical humbug.

Here is the Preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (adopted by the U.N. in 1948 Hmmm The very year Arab Mohammedan nations first tried to wipe Israel off the map):

Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,

Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people,

Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,

Whereas it is essential to promote the development of friendly relations between nations,

Whereas the peoples of the United Nations have in the Charter reaffirmed their faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women and have determined to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,

Whereas Member States have pledged themselves to achieve, in co-operation with the United Nations, the promotion of universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms,

Whereas a common understanding of these rights and freedoms is of the greatest importance for the full realization of this pledge,

Now, Therefore THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY proclaims THIS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction.

Despotic Communist nations made this a farce from day one; however with the inclusion of the influence of Mohammedan ruled nations in the U.N. General Assembly it is more a load of crap in 2007 than in 1948.

Anne Bayefsky writes about the total irrelevance of the United Nations; however she misses the reason that Western nations feel impelled to remain in the U.N. due the power of the Security Council. Unanimous votes (this excludes abstentions) in the Security Council are capable of mobilizing a significant military array to enforce the will of the Security Council will (but not necessarily the United Nations will comprised of the General Assembly and the Secretary-General).

The former Soviet Union’s abstention in Korean War illustrated this and the USA took full advantage to engage in a U.N. sanctioned war that ended up in a stalemate and the separation of Korea into two separate nations.

The Global lesson learned is that one veto nullifies even a majority vote of the Security Council. Therein lay the hesitation of America or any other permanent Security Council nation from departing from United Nations membership. If a Britain, France or America (three of five permanent members) should leave the U.N. the remaining permanent members (Russia and China) could lead a coalition that would be detrimental geopolitically to some nation or nations.

Thus the only way for America to abandon the U.N. is to pre-arrange a coalition to counter her enemies. Currently even Western Democratic nations are jealous of American global hegemony; therefore lay the American quandary with the United Nations.
