Moving
Well it has been quite busy the last couple of weeks.  We were kicked out of or warehouse in town and were forced to move into temporary space out at the farm.  It was been a major effort on everybodies part to make it all happen in such short notice and within our deadline.  Despite what some people think, it is very possible to have excellent teamwork in the workplace.

We moved tens of thousands of pounds of seed, as well as, all the office equipment, supplies shelving and other accumulated odds and ends. Which translates to working 10 to 14 hours a day for the past 17 days. I'm very tired, but it does feel good to have it all done. Well, almost all done, there is still a bit of unpacking and organizing that needs to be finished, but compared to the actual moving that should be really easy.

Well I have won my ongoing battle with my job
So I finally mustered up the courage to put in my two weeks notice. I was hoping they would call my bluff because as much bitching as I do about my job it is actually ok. I work ten hour days, but my machines are all automated. So most of the day I stand around and listen to books on tape or music. Anyhow, I have been trying to get a raise for over a year. So finally I got fed up and went in and put my notice in with the production manager. So he called the head manager into the office. He is known as being a colossal prick. He is the reason so many people hate it here, and is the type who will bite off his nose to spite his face. See the thing is I work in a department where I am the sole provider of work for the rest of the shop. Now to train someone at what I do would take months. And if I leave production will go down by about 90 percent. So anyhow he comes into the office and asks me what the problem is. I tell him I can get a job that pays me more money so he says, "when you leaving?" So I tell him two weeks and he says fine and walks out. So my production manager is flabbergasted because he knows what this will mean to the company. So he tells me he will come get me in five minutes. So he does and that was all it took for him to get me the raise I wanted plus a dollar more an hour. A total of 1.50 per hour. This is what you have to go through at my job to get anything. You have to threaten them.
