Satan Has Desired To Sift You Like Wheat

sandyquill has reminded me this morning that as of today, the sun will begin to shine longer upon us.

As the sun rises here, this is true for me.

These last two weeks, a spiritual and emotional tsunami has turned my little world topsy-turvy.  Thought I was drowning for a while.  It wasn’t a huge tsunami—no one has died or taken ill.  But it has taken days to get back to “normal”—normal with God and normal with life.  The problem itself hasn’t gone away.  But at least I’m standing on my feet again and most of the seaweed and rotting detritus have disappeared.

It’s been very humbling—humiliating—and there may be more of it to come.  However, God has always helped me, as He has and will help you—through these storms.

Jesus told Peter, “Satan has desired to sift you like wheat.”  In that time, and, in many parts of the world today, wheat was separated from chaff by tossing it into the air to allow the wind to blow the useless parts away.  Can you imagine what it was like to be a kernel of wheat, thrown into the air, tossing and tumbling, upside down, topsy turvy, turning every which way?  That’s the way our trials are, aren’t they?  That’s the way this one has been.  However, Jesus also told Peter, “I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail.”

Jesus has also interceded for me, I am certain.  My faith has not failed, thankfully.  It’s been tough.  I’m sure there are “tossings” yet, just up the road.  But because He is faithful, He will cause me to be faithful, too.

Tsunami

Tsunami!

A hazard that happened in year 2004 a day after Christmas. What a sad tragedy L do you know that how many people death? How many people lost their family and suffered from this hazard? How much money and properties people lost?

For me , all these answers are not important at all! Then what is the significant point? That’s how many people really contribute to help raising fund for Tsunami victims. How many people awake and learn a lesson from this disaster. Do you agree with me, don’t you?

In general, we know that Tsunami have significantly killed many lives. In spite of this , it brings positive impact to communities. Tsunami aid effort unites community. Many organization and individual have shown their caring and sharing. They help in raising fund, donating food and clothes, even providing biomedical services or military services.

Mates, what have you done so far to help poor Tsunami victims?

Please close your eyes and give yourself a few seconds of silence. Ask yourself by speaking from your heart. Have you ever contribute to society before Tsunami tragedy? Until today, have you done any charity to Tsunami fund? Does Tsunami disaster impact your life personally?

Awake, mates! Tsunami tragedy is just a reminder to us. Remind us to take action before it is too late, remind us to be gratitude, awake those sleeping people.

Life is too short to be little. Together, we can change and save a life.

FirstReach Report: Java Tsunami False Alarm: False Though It May Be, Successful!
Just a few weeks ago, on the island of Java in Indonesia, a beachgoer reported seing the waterline receding and gave a warning of impending doom: TSUNAMI. The beachgoers, along with hundreds of waterside residents and businesspeople, immediately headed inland.

Later, it turned out to be nothing more than a false alarm, but the story proves that Javanese, still in remembrance of the December 27, 2005 tsunami, are ready to run for their lives when the slighlest chance that a tsunami is coming arrives.

This is a seeming success for the system, which has worked in two ways:

1.\ Javanese and other islanders are now ready to take on a full scale tsunami, and know how to protect themselves in case one really does occur;

2.\ The new alarm systems have proven successful. If this were a real tsunami, countless millions of lives would have been saved.

This concludes the FirstReach Report of Free World News: World Impact Squadron: World Issues Blog.

The Hippo and the Tortoise
Tsunami Survivors

NAIROBI (AFP) - A baby hippopotamus that survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise, in an animal facility in the port city of Mombassa, officials said.

The hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen and weighing about 300 kilograms (650 pounds), was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean , then forced back to shore when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on December 26, before wildlife rangers rescued him.

"It is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with being a 'mother'," ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in charge of Lafarge Park , told AFP.

"After it was swept and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized. It had to look for something to be a surrogate mother. Fortunately, it landed on the tortoise and established a strong bond. They swim, eat and sleep together," the ecologist added. "The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it follows its mother. If somebody approaches the tortoise, the hippo becomes aggressive, as if protecting its biological mother," Kahumbu added.

"The hippo is a young baby, he was left at a very tender age and by nature, hippos are social animals that like to stay with their mothers for four years," he explained.

Tired of dissasters
A tsunami, a load of hurricanes in the USA and in the Pacfic and a earthquake in Pakistan. Beside that a lot of terrorist bombings, including the ones in London and the one on Bali. Those are the disasters of a year that I remember and I am sure there are a lot more. Here in Holland we gave 55 milion to the victims of the tsunami in Southern Asia. Now there is an earthquake in Pakistan and India. But the people now only give 7 milion. So why do they do that? The simple explanation was found out by a investigation by a bureau here in Holland. The people are tired of all the disasters. Ofcourse they found it sad for the people who were hit by the earthquake. But it's again another disaster. People are just like, again a disaster and again people want to donate the money. But they only have a certain amount of money and give not money to every good cause. The bad luck is that the disaster now happens in Pakistan a part of the world people are less connected to then the vacation-resorts in South-Asia that were hit by the tsunami or the 'superb power' USA that were hit by the hurricane. It's a country that people connect with terrorism. Also there is war between Pakistan and India so why would we support war? Or support terrorism? Simple the ones hit aren't the terrorist, they aren't the army-units (altough they were hit). No, they are the normal people. They are hit. The situation is worse at the moment, but worst is coming. A very cold winter is coming to the area. And that's probarly gonna cost more people their lifes then the earthquake. So they really need support, else the situation will be even more disatrous then it already is. Now, do I give money at the moment? No, but if they do the same as last year with the tsunami at my work, I am gonna donate money again. During that tsunami we could donate a several of hours to the victims of the tsunami. Those hours were worth the money you earned. I won't say how many hours I gave, but the amount of money I gave was around 25 euro. And that is gonna be the same for the earthquake-victims if there is an action like that. Else? I won't donate money. Why am I telling then here that people need the money? Simply because I didn't donate any money at another way to the tsunami and I am not going to for the earthquake. Simply if you give money to a charity it's still the question if the money ends up at the right thing. For example the 55 milion we, Dutch people, gave to the tsunami-victims. That money is also used for other causes. But yet not every cent is used, but they don't use it for the earthquake victims, that's strange. There are also stories going on, that one of the charity's how was given that money, didn't even use a cent for the tsunami but just used it to made their offices more perfect. With better chair, nicer carpet and stuff like that. That's also maybe why people are now giving less money, just because they don't trust the charity's anymore. And that's bad cause lot of the charity's mean it good. I don't know what I will do, I think at least there should be more money for the victims, but people also should be carefull where they give their money too. Well, tonight there is a special show for the victims of the earthquake on television. And that's one of the things I absolutly hate about that kinda dissasters. There are always tv-shows. That's..boring and unnessacry. Maybe people are gonna donate money now, but also they are not, because they think the same as me. And combined with the look on the charity's people have and maybe even combined with the combination that people don't have a band with Pakistan, can make that people don't donate money. But what if there is gonna be another dissaster and another? People will at some points really gonna put it on a hold. And then the victims don't have the support they need. So what now? I myself don't donate at this moment, but I say people need to donate. It's a bit strange I know. But let's say it different then. The people who were hit in the hurricanes in the USA, should be supported by their own goverment. Their goverment is at this moment spending money like water in the war in Iraq and gave loads of money to the victims of the tsunami. But they wouldn't be able to give the money to their own victims? Give it to them and show it. That way people won't send money for that cause and maybe leave some money for the really charity-goals like the earthquake. Well, that's an idea for now, but let's just hope it isn't needed. Let's hope not another dissaster hits our already broken world.
