Tsunami @ MindSay
sandyquill has reminded me this morning that as of today, the sun will begin to shine longer upon us.
As the sun rises here, this is true for me.
These last two weeks, a spiritual and emotional tsunami has turned my little world topsy-turvy. Thought I was drowning for a while. It wasn’t a huge tsunami—no one has died or taken ill. But it has taken days to get back to “normal”—normal with God and normal with life. The problem itself hasn’t gone away. But at least I’m standing on my feet again and most of the seaweed and rotting detritus have disappeared.
It’s been very humbling—humiliating—and there may be more of it to come. However, God has always helped me, as He has and will help you—through these storms.
Jesus told Peter, “Satan has desired to sift you like wheat.” In that time, and, in many parts of the world today, wheat was separated from chaff by tossing it into the air to allow the wind to blow the useless parts away. Can you imagine what it was like to be a kernel of wheat, thrown into the air, tossing and tumbling, upside down, topsy turvy, turning every which way? That’s the way our trials are, aren’t they? That’s the way this one has been. However, Jesus also told Peter, “I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail.”
Jesus has also interceded for me, I am certain. My faith has not failed, thankfully. It’s been tough. I’m sure there are “tossings” yet, just up the road. But because He is faithful, He will cause me to be faithful, too.
Tsunami!
A hazard that happened in year 2004 a day after Christmas. What a sad tragedy L do you know that how many people death? How many people lost their family and suffered from this hazard? How much money and properties people lost?
For me , all these answers are not important at all! Then what is the significant point? That’s how many people really contribute to help raising fund for Tsunami victims. How many people awake and learn a lesson from this disaster. Do you agree with me, don’t you?
In general, we know that Tsunami have significantly killed many lives. In spite of this , it brings positive impact to communities. Tsunami aid effort unites community. Many organization and individual have shown their caring and sharing. They help in raising fund, donating food and clothes, even providing biomedical services or military services.
Mates, what have you done so far to help poor Tsunami victims?
Please close your eyes and give yourself a few seconds of silence. Ask yourself by speaking from your heart. Have you ever contribute to society before Tsunami tragedy? Until today, have you done any charity to Tsunami fund? Does Tsunami disaster impact your life personally?
Awake, mates! Tsunami tragedy is just a reminder to us. Remind us to take action before it is too late, remind us to be gratitude, awake those sleeping people.
Life is too short to be little. Together, we can change and save a life.
Later, it turned out to be nothing more than a false alarm, but the story proves that Javanese, still in remembrance of the December 27, 2005 tsunami, are ready to run for their lives when the slighlest chance that a tsunami is coming arrives.
This is a seeming success for the system, which has worked in two ways:
1.\ Javanese and other islanders are now ready to take on a full scale tsunami, and know how to protect themselves in case one really does occur;
2.\ The new alarm systems have proven successful. If this were a real tsunami, countless millions of lives would have been saved.

The Hippo and the Tortoise
Tsunami Survivors
NAIROBI (AFP) - A baby hippopotamus that survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise, in an animal facility in the port city of Mombassa, officials said.
The hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen and weighing about 300 kilograms (650 pounds), was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean , then forced back to shore when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on December 26, before wildlife rangers rescued him.
"It is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with being a 'mother'," ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in charge of Lafarge Park , told AFP.
"After it was swept and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized. It had to look for something to be a surrogate mother. Fortunately, it landed on the tortoise and established a strong bond. They swim, eat and sleep together," the ecologist added. "The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it follows its mother. If somebody approaches the tortoise, the hippo becomes aggressive, as if protecting its biological mother," Kahumbu added.
"The hippo is a young baby, he was left at a very tender age and by nature, hippos are social animals that like to stay with their mothers for four years," he explained.
