Tiger Woods @ MindSay
Tiger Woods is hurting, is suffering? WHAT? Prime time news "enlightens" us that something of great import needs to be addressed.
Never earned more than $40,000 a year in my life including four years in The United States Navy [three years "overseas" with about three-thousand hours of "hazardous duty" flight-time] and some several more civilian years out-side-of AUSPONA.
My "work-life" began long before I was graduated from Tecumseh High School in in Tecumseh, Michigan, AUSPONA.
Living now in Qingdao on the coast of China I contemplate my daunting, the very daunting and imminent return to Tecumseh, Michigan in the county of Lenawee. I am surly not hurting worthy of international concern and discourse about my plight in life. But, just as surly there are hundreds of thousands of stories of personal plight more noteworthy than Mr. Woods. I admire the man. I respect the man and his fine character and great accomplishments. Still...
The deaths of thousands of "Americans" in Iraq, New Orleans and ...

May 30, 2007 – Thirty thousand active-duty servicemembers and guests will be able to attend the inaugural AT&T National invitational golf tournament July 3-8, professional golfer Tiger Woods announced here yesterday. Woods, who's hosting the event at Congressional Country Club here, made the announcement from the storied venue's clubhouse. He said he understands what it means to be part of a military family and that he wants to acknowledge the sacrifices the nation's servicemembers are making.
"I grew up in that household," Woods, whose late father was a Vietnam veteran, said. "I have friends who are in the military as well, so I know the level of commitment that it takes for them and the things that they do."
It's no coincidence that the tournament incorporates the Fourth of July holiday.
"It's our nation's birthday," he added. "I don't think it could be any better than to have it (then) in D.C. and have all the servicemen and women come out and have it on this golf course."
The newest PGA Tour tournament is working with the military's Pentagon-based Morale, Welfare, and Recreation office to distribute the tickets, 5,000 for each day of the tournament, Greg McLaughlin, president of the Tiger Woods Foundation, said.
"Our intent is to honor and really thank the people that protect us," he said.
As part of that effort, servicemembers attending the tournament will have their own VIP entrance near the 16th green that will lead to a special seating gallery. Their valid military identification card also will garner them discounts on concessions, McLaughlin said.
"We've got about 10 items in cooperation with the PGA Tour and the Pentagon that we've been working on," he added. "These details will come out later this week and in the weeks leading up to the tournament."
The tournament, which has a $6 million purse, will consist of 72 holes of regulation play. Participation is open to 120 players by invitation only. Though many pro golfers set their schedules before the beginning of the year, Jim Furyk, Adam Scott, Davis Love III and Darren Clarke have joined the field in the quest for the winner's $1.08 million prize.
While Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els won't hit the Congressional links, Vijay Singh is "up in the air," Woods said.
Woods, who's ranked No. 1 in the world, said he's intending to play, though Mother Nature may have other plans. His wife, Elin, is expecting the couple's first child and could give birth during the tournament.
That fact gave way to a hypothetical question that drew a good laugh from the crowd gathered for the news conference. A reporter asked what Woods would do if he were on the 18th green, holding a one-stroke lead, and got a call saying Elin had just gone into labor.
"Well, I'll have to play real quick, won't I?" Woods said, breaking into a wide smile as the room burst into laughter. "A (birdie) will win, won't it?"
No matter which player claims the tournament title, the real winners will be the children reached through the programs offered by the Tiger Woods Foundation, one of the tournament's beneficiaries. Other D.C.-based charities also will benefit.
Woods and his father, Earl, established the foundation in 1996 with the mission of empowering young people to dream big and set goals to achieve those dreams through community-based programs, according to the foundation's Web site. An estimated 10 million children have benefited to date.

So yesterday... let's see... I painted the hall closet doorframe, which meant I only had to do one side. My mom asked me to get the mail and I said "Why don't you, you're dressed." Because:
A: I was not dressed
B: She bugs me to get the goddamn mail every damn day, but she sits around in a chair reading and watching soaps. She could stand to get the mail once a month.
For some reason, she actually listened and got it, and on her way back told me I better not get paint on any of the coats. What? These coats? The ones we never use? I of course got no paint on them, because I am just the best damn painter you will ever know.
Then I went back to bed at 3. Got up at 12, went back at 3. I had set aside the entire day for getting my huck finn quotes from the front of the book. I think I was having a bipolar attack. Depression does include too much sleep. I really wanted to do something, I was just toooo tired. So I slept until 5, when I was rudely awoken to go to a dinner that was not on the table. Lying, conniving parents. I did sweep the college jeopardy tournament. I am the masterrrr.
Then I went online at about 9:20. I received a phone call from emily and vanessa informing me that my presence was desired at a sleepover. I walekd out with the phone and my mother said No right off the bat. But I told her they were working on Huck Finn, which they kind of were, so she actually let me go. I sped off into the night, got there, at some leatherbys and waited for 1:30, when the real fun began. I cannot/should not go into detail, as I was sworn to secrecy, but no matter how much I swear, I still keep shitty secrets. So we drove around delivering packages and redecorating etc etc etc.
I told my dad I'd be home by 10, but I overslept and got back at 10:30. Amazingly, my dad did not care. So... I took a shower, finished my quotes and took out the car from 1:15-4:30. In that time, I ate lunch with emily and vanessa (I know, I was sick of them by then too), went to vanessa's, dropped by Alicia's(for an hour), went to the library and then zipped on over to Starbucks, where I was treated to the most delicious tall mocha frapp made by Neil himself. Then we discussed last night's crappy escapades and Redd. Then I sped on home and worked on the "Hard" sudoku today. I don't say "hard" in a sarcastic way, I mean to say that it was actually rated hard. I broked out the graph paper and went to work. Finished it in 3 hours or so. Ate tater tots for dinner, watched jeopardy, wheel of fortune, some show on fat kids, and then part of a show on kids watching tv. Then I supposedly did two days of batting practice. What I really did was try to do that thing Tiger Woods does, when he juggles the ball on his golf club before hitting it kind of high and then taking a whole golf swing and whacking the shit out of it. I tried. I ddid it like twice. Out of 20 or so tries. Then I came in and doodled around on the computer, watched The Sweetest Thing for the 4th time, watched Fulls Rush In for the 1st and a half time, and now I'm watching Minding the Store, but I'm not so sure why.
I went to panda twice and FOD once for lunch this week. The panda days were in a row. I just can't get enough of that Orange Chicken. Sam from lamantha went and did not eat the chicken. She doesn't like vegetarians, but she is one. I just don't know how you live without that orange chicken. Now that I get out after 5th and I think lunch comes after 5th on thursdays... maybe I'll go there every week. Oh man... I could die of happiness.
