The Omen @ MindSay
So then, I suppose I best let you all know about yesterday, though not much happened. We wandered around Tottenham Court Road for a bit, which was fun. Until we got to HMV.
Of all the days for a store to have a signing session, it was yesterday. Now, you'd have thought that was a good thing, right? WRONG! The "band" in question happened to be Tonedef Allstars, who have released a rather crap World Cup song, called Who Do You Think You Are Kidding, Jurgen Klinsmann? It sounded good to start with, and at least a more upbeat offering than the FA-commissioned World At Your Feet by Embrace. A good song in it's own right, but for a World Cup song, it's bloody depressing. Anyways, by the time we left we both hated the song. I mean, we were in HMV for a good half an hour, and it was on repeat THE WHOLE TIME. Joy...not. So, needless to say, I didn't get anything signed, despite Martin Peters being there, and some guy who was in Dad's Army. We might've ended up in a couple of pictures that the press were taking. I'm on the hunt for them, so I'll let you know.
So, after wandering around TCR for a bit and buying some stuff (she got some books, and I got some CDs..not important though), we went to West India Quay for what I suppose you could call the main event of the date: going to see The Omen ^_^ Still, there's more to know prior to that, or rather, more to say.
Just inside the main doors, there was a group of 8 people, who were arguing with two staff members of the cinema, one of whom I assume was the manager. As we didn't catch the beginning of the argument, I'm assuming their problem was that they weren't allowed to see a film as a group of 8, and they were trying to say that they'd go in groups of 4, or something like that. Personally, I would've been inclined to agree with the manager. Their language wasn't exactly clean, and they seemed to have no regard for authority. Mena told me that if she had stayed with her friends from a while ago, she would've been like that. I'm glad she's not, they were all twats.
So anyways, we bought our tickets, left the group of wankers arguing with the manager (it carried on for a good 10-15 minutes, I think), and went to wait outside the screen, which is where things got a little more interesting. One of Mena's old friends turned up, with her group of friends, to watch the same film. So..we had to kinda distance ourselves a little, because she only lives across the road from Mena, and there's no telling what she could've said, had she seen us together. Whether she did or not, I dunno, but she did spot Mena when the film had finished, and we were outside the cinema. A minor scare, I think. It certainly seemed to worry Mena a little bit.
The film, then. Considering it was only made for monetary reasons, it was actually very good. I've not seen the original yet, so I can't really make a comparison between the two. I did enjoy it though. It made me jump a lot, though I dunno if it was cos of the film, or because the film was making everybody else jump, which in turn was making me jump. In a roundabout way, I suppose it was the film, wasn't it?
And that was it really. I cut a fine line in getting home (I had about 40 minutes to get from West India Quay back to King's Cross St. Pancreas, and get on my train. No sooner had I got on it, it set off. AND I got a seat ^_^)
So, good day was had by all. I enjoyed it, Mena enjoyed it, and best of all, I'm seeing her next week! Glee!
I might update later. Maybe. Depends if I can be arsed.
Bye!

While volunteering to run a friend's store today, I am surprised that so many mothers are talking about taking their kids out of school tomorrow because it's the sixth day of the sixth month of the sixth year. Older kids are scaring the younger ones by regarding this as "The Day of the Beast." Maybe it's all that fuss over the number 666 which is supposed to be the number of the devil in the book of Revelations in the Bible. Thing is, if you knew anything about numerology, you'd realize that the number 666 is actually a very lucky number, being that it is a triple trinity number -- actually the number 6 is the higher vibration of 3, so, really 666 is the number 3 repeated six times. Whether it's regarded as part of Christian mythos or not, the number 6 is a number that represents the family, compassion, and domesticity. I'm surprised Christians don't interpret this number more positively. Interpreting the number 6 within the Christian creation story, Man was created on the sixth day and the Supreme Being is three persons (Father, Son and Holy Ghost). The number 666 could then be interpreted as a number that represents men trying to take away the power of God, or more positively, men becoming one within God's power. I guess it all depends on whether or not you want to see 666 as the glass half full or half empty!
No matter what I think, 666 is commonly known as the Number of the Beast in Book of Revelation chapter 13, verses 17-18. "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number [is] Six hundred threescore [and] six..." However, according to other translations of the Bible, some maintain that recent discoveries show that 616 could possibly be the correct number of the beast, and not the commonly known 666.
However, if are Jewish, the three 6's of 666 add up to the number 18. The number 18 is a number for life and considered a holy omen. Perhaps this beast that's spoken of so hotly could be a "wolf in sheep's clothing?"
Some people regard June 6, 2006 (06/06/06) and June 6, 1906 are the days of the Beast, however there's no proof that these days really have anything to do with the Beast. To most people in the world it's just another day and just another number.

Have a great Day of the Beast everyone!!!
