The Everglow @ MindSay

So for a while now (ever since I got the cd) I've been thinking that I needed to do an entry dedicated to The Everglow... Mae's new cd.  It is probably one of the best cd's I've heard in quite some time, there is only one song that I don't REALLY enjoy--meaning I still like it, it's just not as good as the others.  This cd isn't as vocally intense as their last, in my opinion.  It's more focused on the music, the piano parts are incredible; but I don't want the lyrics to be forgotten, because they're amazing as well.  So I just thought I would highlight some of my favorite highlights from some of the songs.  I encourage you all to experience The Everglow... you're really missing out if you don't!!

We're So Far Away  (this song is naturally one of my faves ;) )

*And the stars, they seemed to paint the most elaborate scene to date

*Throwing caution to the wind, we reached for the stars.  Everything was now ours.

*Did you know how you would move me?  Did you know?  Did you know how you would move me?  Well, I don't even think so.  But the moment's magic swept us away.  And it's so close but we're so far away. It's so close but we're so far away.

Someone Else's Arms

*More than words, you keep to yourself.

*This heavy breathing, it seems we're better off breaking hearts.

*I just want to wake up in someone else's arms.

Suspension

*Lately I'm alright, and lately I'm not scared.  I've figured out that what you do to me feels like I'm floating on air.

*All I know is I believe in the very thing that got us here and now I can't leave

*Say anything, but say what you mean.  When you whisper you want this, and your eyes tell the same.  We are gaining speed.  I can barely breathe.  Because I'm caught in suspension.

This Is The Countdown

*The only way to catch the butterfly was never waiting for the wings.

*I've been waiting for something.  I've been sitting for too long.  I've been waiting but oh, tonight this one last try goes on and on and on.

Painless

*It was my personal symphony, striking the chords for only me.

*Until this empty place is filled, I'll keep pretending.

*These days and nights blend into one.  But one more night is all I need.

The Ocean  (another fave)

*Oh, the night becomes the space that's somewhere in between (what I feel and what I'm told)

*You come over unnanounced.  Silence broken by your voice in the dark.  I need you here tonight just like the ocean needs the waves.  Fall around me now like stars that shine and brighten the way.  I need you here tonight just like this night it needs the rain.

Breakdown

*A song in the air, we're together floating.

*What I miss everyday since our goodbye was enough for me to realize.

*I'm waiting (she says it's magic) for the breakdown (I'm floating weightless).  I'm waiting (she says it's magic) for the comedown (here comes the breakdown).

Cover Me (the one I like least... it's because of the music)

*Everything is better and everything is right and everything comes together and everything's done tonight if you cover me.

*This is the last breath I, I think I'll ever take.  This is the last move I, I think I'll ever make.  Will there be a chance now to figure this out and to be free tonight?

The Everglow

*So be here by my side and watch the stars.  They're ours.

*I think that we've got what it takes to get this heart start beating again.

*Oh, and our hearts are on the Everglow, so just let go and fall into it.

Ready And Waiting To Fall  (another fave)

*Love.  It's a wave I ride that won't ever reach the shore.

The Sun And The Moon  (another fave!)

*I can not say that I was ready for this.  But when worlds collide, and all that I have is all that I want, the words seem to flow and the thoughts they keep running.

*Painted skies.  I've seen so many that can not compare to your ocean eyes.

*So when you say "forever" can't you see?  You've already captured me.
