The Dark Knight @ MindSay

From Facebook

Reasons to NOT watch the Dark Knight:

1. The producers have used Heath Ledger's death as a marketing strategy.

2. To most real Batman fans, nothing can compare to the original Batman movies . . . Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney . . . need I say more?

3. Is it not strange that Heath Ledger died right after he was finished filming his role in the movie. I smell a conspiracy theory.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Explain to me how the producers have used Heath Ledger's death as a "marketing strategy". Because I am really not seeing that at all.

2. GEORGE CLOONEY? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Does anyone else realize that the "Batman and Robin" and "Batman Forever" movies (both starring Clooney) were probably THE WORST movies in the Batman franchise? I won't say too much about the one directed by Tim Burton-- it wasn't so bad, and I've certainly had my reservations about Christian Bale's portrayal. Does anyone even remember how George Clooney defeated Two Face in his Batman movie? HE THREW A BUNCH OF SIMILAR LOOKING COINS AT HIM. Oh yeah, that was great cinematics.

3. This is just stupid. Please stop talking on the internet.

I remarked to Jason a few days ago that I wasn't sure how The Dark Knight would turn out because I wasn't sure if I'd like Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker. However, I was pretty impressed (especially with the Joker laugh). I don't think the producer's used his death as a marketing strategy. I think it was morbidly coincidental that Ledger's death coincided with the release of previews for the film. While I'm not sure his performance merits a posthumous Oscar, he did star in a movie worth seeing.

I hate you Facebook groups.

Eeek.

(Cue girlish screams)

I think I have an addiction to movie trailers, though I'm not sure it's intervention-worthy yet.

Update as of 8/2/08:  I was so right about this.

THE DARK KNIGHT!!!!!!
WAS AMAZING
OMG
BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR!!!!
BY FAR
NO WORDS CAN GIVE HEATH LEDGERS PERFORMANCE JUSTICE

Why So Serious?
I went to see The Dark Knight with Coral last night. Om My God that movie is amazing. Heath Ledger has completely redefined what the Joker is and was just creepy.
I also liked Aaron Eckhardts role as Harvey Dent/ Two-face  in the film but think the look of  Two-Face was a little unrealistic but still amazing and scary.
I think Christian Bale changed the voice he used for Batman it seemed different then the one he used in Begins.

A blog in the affected manner of one who has just reread Pride and Prejudice

Finally back from the grandmother visit. If I had all the patience in the world and the desire to drag up painful memories I would relate here the entirety of my cold acquaintance with my maternal grandmother. Being as I do not have such an affected mood at the present, I will discourse on other matters.

Principal of these is that I had the opportunity to see “The Dark Knight”, and upon the occurrence of said opportunity I seized it with zeal.  Truly, truly a great mix of movie tragedy and dramatics, and captivated my imagination enough to stop the nightmares I had been entertaining in the previous three nights of sleep. Let us hope that I can continue this streak through tonight.

I am tired, so I will end with mentioning that I nicked several of my grandfather’s CDs from his collection (as my grandmother has no delight for music, whatsoever). If scary movies cannot fix my dreams, hopefully Debussy can.
