I have been a netizen for about 11 years now. i remember gopher and mosaic. irc and aol 2.6 ("with web browser!" hahaha). eWorld and BBSes. i remember when Netscape navigator used to pwnx00rs IE. and when l33t ('elite' for the uninitiated) speak was spelled with fucken letters. and correctly! and when 12 year kids didnt fucken ruin games of fps or RTS games by logging out or talking smack. there used to be a code of ethics jeebus fucken damn it!! gahhh , i digress.
i think most ppl surf the way in which their minds work. here's what i mean: most of the ppl i know surf the web with 1 maybe 2 windows open. they click a link, read what's on the page, hit the Back button and hit another link. repeat.
that sucks. big ones. that's so boring and... linear. yuck. how the heck , in the year 2006, can you ppl surf with just 2 windows open and NO TABS? tabs are a godsend, a technological boon on the geek population if you will. i heart tabs very much. then again, i heart lots of random things (rain, hugs, pinching cheeks, ramune bottles, etc). how do i surf you ask? usually with about 2 or 3 windows... 10+ tabs each. yes, i have about 20+ pages open at once. why? because i …am strange and crave imput strangely. and the thought of missing out on a link by going back and forth annoys(?) me. so i command-click (opens link in new tab) every single link on a page that i find interesting, this secure that i will remember to read it (because its in its own tab) and is also convenient because i can save the tabs in a folder in case i have to go do something else and shutdown. i suppose you can conclude that my mind is all over the place, all the time.
I had a bigger, much more important point with this rant but i've forgotten now. oh well, stay tuuuuuned
