Syracuse @ MindSay

My room smells like cookies.
I was awake for more than 24 hours, yesterday.

I spent about half of my day on a plane, going home after a day and a half in Syracuse, New York.
I visited the university and was thrilled to see that the campus is absolutely gorgeous. Ivy covered buildings? Yeah. Fantastic.
The city (town) is full of old buildings that I really wanted to walk around in. Architecture is not the same as it used to be.

I dressed up in a homemade zombie costume, yesterday. It was really super. I scared children while passing out candy.

I should be working on homework right now, but procrastinating sounds far more appealing.

This and That
Lots of different things going on lately. Right now I'm hating Matthew's teacher. It's a long story, and maybe I'll write about it soon. Let's just say she's 25, this is her second year teaching, and she hasn't figured out when it's appropriate to bend the rules, and that a 3rd grader should not be expected to handle every situation on his own.

Tomorrow my curly red head is going to be 3. We are telling him today is his birthday though because that's when we are celebrating it. It would be too confusing to give him presents and cake today, and then wake him up with a "happy birthday" greeting tomorrow. He was excited to hold up his 3 fingers and announce that he is now 3. :) I'm going to have his hair cut soon, but I am trying to figure out a style where he will look like a boy, and still have longish hair. I don't want all his curls cut away, but Destin insists on sleeping in the same toddler bed with Elijah, and every night Elijah cries "ow, ow, ow" because Destin is laying on his hair. Ok, yeah, that was a run-on sentence, but whatever. LOL Grammar police, take me away!

Also happening tomorrow is the older kids first day of basketball, and my trip to see the Nutcracker. I am going with the Girl Scouts as sort of a chaperone. This is nice because it means I don't have to pay the $22 for my ticket, plus I don't have to drive the 2 hours to Syracuse to see it. I'll be riding the bus with the kids. Caitlin has never seen the Nutcracker, and I haven't seen it since I was in 5th grade. It should be a lot of fun. Hopefully I'll remember my camera.

Then there's this weird virus type thing my computer has. I've been using Firefox because Explorer has gotten to be a pain in the ass. It shuts down all the time for no reason. Well now Firefox keeps getting these pop ups. At least they open in a new tab, but it's a pain in the butt. My virus scan didn't fix it, and the computer guy told me last year that AVG was the best around. So I have the free version of that. I'm not going to get the paid version. Being military we can get Norton or McAfee for free through an Army site. I'm about ready to dump AVG and get back Norton, and my Spybot and AdAware. The computer guy had told me I didn't need Spybot or AdAware with AVG, but apparently he was wrong, wrong, wrong!

Easy Weekend Runs
We spent the weekend running from Columbia,SC to Syracuse, NY. We had plenty of time so we got to sleep with the truck stopped all night, each night. We are back in Spartinburg, SC now, on the way to Nashville then probably to Miami, FL.
