Driving home today.  On the freeway, I spy this personalized plate - HISHAF.  It was on a Hyundai Tuscon SUV.  The SUV was attached to a extremely large Fleetwood RV.

The plate on the RV was HERHAF.

I can't make this stuff up!

Some of you know that John Edwards is asking Americans to give up their SUVs. CNN did some interviewing on the streets to see why people haven't given up theirs, and here's what they got:

10. "Love My SUV"
9. "I need it to put stuff from Home Depot in the car." [Unless your job involves constantly going, have you heard of Hertz?]
8. "For the kids." [somebody said they had 9 ...that makes sense]
7. "For the kids and the pets."[K]
6. "Has John Edwards given up his?" [he actually drives a hybrid SUV]
5. "It isn't mine, it belongs to the company."
4. "I guess it's my money." [*cough*Rich ass*cough*]
3. "Because." [AKA no excuse]
2. "I don't think it's right to tell us what to do!" [Ok! So if somebody tells you to save money, you just tune out. You must be one of the 6 out of 10 Americans in some sort of debt!]
1. "This is a rental."

Now I don't have a car yet (my Focus lease is coming at the end of this month), but I don't really like  SUVs, especially the Hummers (AKA box on wheels). You have bad handling,  longer stopping distances, and, of course,  I like to save my money.

Also, who actually needs SUVs besides people with big families/ guys who need it for their jobs/ army personel? How many Americans actually go off road like in the commercials?

What really ticks me off though, it the HUMMER LIMOS. Seriously, you just went from 10 mpg to more like 5.
Could you imagine this thing off road?

Its my birthday tomorrow! :)  I'm turning 20 years young.

 

My car is going to be officially all set tomorrow too, err it should be.  We had to take care of some stuff at the tax collectors today, so tomorrow right when the DMV opens I can go register my car and get my plates for it!  SOO excited. I'm going to take some pictures of it in a few minutes, when I go to vacumn it out and kind of straighten it up a bit, cause it has been sitting in our driveway for a year now.

 

*MY RANT on drivers...it's not pretty and it's not based on any facts, but I don't care!*

 

This goes out to all the men who insist on driving those hugeass, obnoxious F10 4x4 pickup trucks for no good reason other than you think it makes you look manly.  Guess what Einstein?  It doesn't, it doesn't make you more manly, and it won't increase the size of your little toddler sized penis, HOWEVER, it will increase the size of your asshatness!    If you're not in construction or hauling shit around you have no need for something that obnoxious.  So, get over yourself, and get a reasonable car!  WAIT!  I'm not done...This part goes out to all the women who insist on driving the hugest, most gas guzzling SUVs out there.  Listen here chickies!  You may feel safer driving those behemoths around, but you're putting the rest of us at risk because you can't drive that damn things!  Before they ever let you out of the dealership they should have thrown your stupid ass into a chair and did a Matrix-style download into your empty little head and given you some driving skills!  Cause, I gotta tell you I'm tired of having to avoid you in the frickin parking lot!  And for God sakes, put down the frickin cellphone, your can tell your friend about your bad bikini wax later!  I'm done...have a nice day :)
