SUSPENDED

I've been suspended from work for an indefinite amount of time. I knew it would happen after this weekends nightmare.

No guarantee I'll be going back.  Just a lot of confusion and and fact getting going on right now.  My usual co-worker will be calling anytime now I'm sure.

I was sent home from the staff meeting before everyone else arrived.  And now I sit waiting once again to see what the future will bring.

Peace.  J.

Coincidentally I ran into my ex-coworker today.  Anna.  I've lived each day of that weekend over in my mind ...... day by day ...... finding it hard to believe a year has passed.  I still carry pain in my heart.  A very big loss.  I can't expect anyone to understand.  Its better today than it has been in a long time ..... but the longing to help is still there, the yearning for that second chance still there.  I loved my job.  I loved the girls.  One original girl left now.  The rest are gone.  They have moved on ..... and I seriously need to too.  And I am.  Slowly but surely ..... moving on.  Time heals all wounds ..... right?

Peace.  J.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

A meaningless post about absolutely nothing.

The Good

First, a heartwarming story for all you softies. You may not have heard of Mike Coolbaugh. He was a first base coach for a minor league team. He was killed earlier this year when he was hit with a line drive. His wife was pregnant with the couple's third child at the time.

The players from the Colorado Rockies voted to give his widow a full share of the team's playoff earnings. Just goes to show that not all professional athletes are selfish douchebags.

The Bad

Travis Henry of the Denver Broncos is facing a year suspension from the NFL. He was busted for marijuana...again. That's bad news for Henry and the Broncos because he was leading the league in rushing. It seems he has a history of bad decisions. I have recently learned that he has 9 illegitimate children with 9 different women.

I guess I'd be smoking dope too if I had to pay those bills.

The Ugly

The New York Yankees got blasted 12-3 yesterday by the Cleveland Indians. The news was not all good for Indians fans however. Cleveland Cavs star LeBron James was in the crowd being interviewed. He was wearing a Yankee hat. Cleveland fans were livid. It turns out that he is a huge frontrunner. He told a reporter that he was also a Dallas Cowboys fan.

How does an Ohio kid grow up to be a Yankee and Cowboy fan?

ScHoOl

Hey.

Ida, the person who drops me off at my bus stop, doesn't really pick me up anymore. See, before, she had a shift that I can't believe she takes. You know that episode of Spongebob when Squidward and him got the late night shift, and its like 3am, she works something like that. She finally quit, and now has a job in the morning.

I have to be by her house at 7:20 because she leave 7:40 and I have to wait for her friend, Donna, to pick I, and Ida's son & grandson. It looked horrible yesterday morning, so I wore a long sleeve winter shirt with a Old Navy fleece jacket, and capris with my ripoff Reeboks. Only to be greeted with later in the day, that it was blistering hot....that's what I get for assuming.

So, I'm a mod. on my friend Karen's forum :: http://krprincess24.proboards80.com/ And I have to start putting some threads and stuff to get the forum running. I also have to put up a banner for the site and make Karen a new siggie/ava set.

Today, I wore my brother's shirt, tight pants, ripoff Reeboks, and a fingerless frog green glove(and my 3 dollar, badly camoflague wristband). I brought Charles, my pimp monkey, to school. Everyone that I pretty much showed him too loved him and though he was cute...with the exception of Sean L. & Kyle. It scared Kyle.

2nd period, I found out that someone has a crush on me....my crush's friend. What the hell? His friend is cute and all, but not really my type, though I'm a open-minded person, so I could give him a chance. Maybe he'll ask me if I want to go to the dance with him....and then again, guys don't like me that much.

3rd period, fine. 66 words per minute. Woo.

4th, it was ok. Hate math though.

5th, working on a poem for the class. Have to either write a poem or story or essay about our favorite place.

Lunch was ok, but Chelsea kept launching corn at me and that corn is AWFUL!!!! and scary.

7th, social studies. We were learning about types of classes. Priests, upper class, lower class, slaves, and women. I was an upper classman.

8th, learning an Elvis song on the keyboard/

9th, had a test on Edgar Allan Poe. I didn't study, so I probably got a 87.

I'm so bored.....

Laterz!

(ps, I love Jade Puget....^_^)

life, oh life . . .

Well, it's been an interesting week of ups and downs.

I guess I'll start with chronological importance.

I'm running the household now because an emergency has sprung up and both of my parents are out of town, attending to other matters (health issues, actually--don't want to discuss it just yet). It's a bit frightening to be in charge of everything, from the mundane (such as the menu for the day) to the new and intimidating (such taking care of all household expenses). I know that I'll only be doing it for a few days, but it's still a rather intimidating thought. Ah, well.

Classes were suspended last Wednesday afternoon and yesterday due to a strong typhoon that's been ravaging the country. And seeing as how poor my country is in reality, the sights are not palatable. The trail of ruined infrastructures and deaths is most certainly not desirable.

I have makeup class tomorrow, since classes were suspended for one day and a half.

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest during the half day that classes were suspended. It was fabulous. Much more complex and exciting than I expected. And the Jack/Elizabeth angle . . . yummy. I won't reveal any more. But suffice it to say I squee-d to no end when I saw the ending. (I always liked Captain Barbossa.) The reappearances of past characters also made the movie so much more delectable.

I'm totally brainwashed by High School Musical. I'm totally loving it. I want to buy the soundtrack.

Just bought the DVD of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe today. I'm excited to watch it over the (limited) weekend.

My secret's out. My friends know who it is I pine for. Oh, God.

And . . . I think that's about it. I wish I could relax today, but I have a quiz to study for tomorrow, so . . . fat chance. Sigh.

That's it. Ta.

Stackhouse Suspended One Game For Flagrant Foul

Dallas Mavericks forward Jerry Stackhouse was suspended Friday from Game 5 of the NBA Finals for his hard foul on Miami's Shaquille O'Neal in Game 4.

At the time, Stackhouse was called for a flagrant foul. But after reviewing the play and discussing the details with both players, league vice president Stu Jackson opted to upgrade the punishment to a suspension.

"The contact by Jerry Stackhouse was clearly excessive and warrants a suspension," Jackson said in a release.

The series is tied 2-2, with the Heat having won the last two games. Game 5 is Sunday night in Miami.

Stackhouse is Dallas' top reserve. He's averaging 13.8 points this postseason and 13.0 in the finals. He had 16 in Game 2, including 10 straight over the final 79 seconds of the first half that propelled the Mavericks to a victory.

Earlier Friday, Dallas coach Avery Johnson said he didn't think such a penalty was warranted, noting that O'Neal wasn't penalized for hitting Stackhouse hard enough in Game 1 that he opened a gash that required three stitches to close.

This marks the third time this postseason the Mavericks have had a player suspended.
