Pro-Life and Pro-Giuliani, 11-1-07

I am a born again Christian, I’m pro-life, and I support Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States.  The former New York City mayor is my preferred Republican candidate, and the refusal of so many in the evangelical community to even consider him based solely on his pro-choice views saddens me.  They’ll probably even kick me out of the group after reading this.

Like it or not, in 1973, seven unelected justices on the U.S. Supreme Court stripped the right of millions of Americans to regulate abortion through their elected legislators at the state level.  It is now the law of the land, and short of an amendment to the Constitution, there is little the President or Congress can do about it.  Sure, the President can appoint new justices to the Supreme Court, but these are lifetime appointments, and someone has to die or resign first...and it seems that just can’t happen fast enough for the religious right.

The mayor’s promises not to make abortion a litmus test for new justices and to appoint “conservative strict constructionist” judges aren’t what most evangelicals want to hear.  Never mind that our soldiers are dying in Iraq, that there are still Islamic nutcases who want to blow us off the map, that we’re being held hostage by OPEC and raped every time we fill our cars up with gas, or that we’re being invaded by illegals from south of the border; their only concern, unfortunately, is that a presidential candidate commits to appointing justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade.

With that in mind, let’s look at some facts.  Before 1973, when the Court cleared the way for abortion as a form of contraception, the procedure was already legal in all fifty states.  Thirty states permitted abortion only to save the life of the mother.  Sixteen states, including North Carolina, allowed abortions to save the life of the mother and in cases involving rape or incest.   Four states allowed for some form of abortion on demand.  Restricted in most states, yes, but legal all the same.  Where was the pro-life outcry back then?

If, someday, the Supreme Court should overturn Roe v. Wade—and I don’t believe it will—it won’t be the end of the world and the return to back-alley abortions that pro-choice radicals like Ted Kennedy would have us believe; neither will it be the final nail in abortion’s coffin that most pro-lifers believe it will be...as I once did.  Abortion will still be legal, and overturning Roe will simply mean that we the people have our right back to set the policy in our respective states.

While I am pro-life, I am also a realist, and I believe that abortion is a necessary evil in some circumstances.  I was once pro-life to the point of making Jesse Helms look liberal, and then someone asked me a simple question: If your wife was raped and became pregnant with that man’s child, do you think she should have to carry that child to term?  I cannot honestly say that I think she should, and I don’t believe that many evangelicals could honestly say that either.

Since then, my position has been that of our state’s pre-Roe.  I believe abortion is acceptable in cases of rape or incest, and if necessary to save the life of the mother.  If it came down to losing my wife or our unborn child, I’d obviously want the doctors to do everything in their power to save my wife.  A fellow Christian once asked me did I not believe God could intervene and save them both.  Of course I believe He could, and I’d pray that He would...but maybe that person has more faith than I do.  I wouldn’t be willing to take the chance.  We could always try to have more children, but I could never replace my wife.  That may sound harsh to some, but I do not feel that my position on abortion conflicts with my Christian faith in any way.  I have a clear conscience.

I most certainly respect that my opinion isn’t going to be everyone else’s, nor do I expect it to be, but I have little respect for single issue voters, be they pro-life or pro-gun (which I am also).  According to nearly every national poll, Rudy Giuliani is the only Republican with a snowball’s chance of defeating Hillary Clinton in the general election.  It is just the height of ignorance for evangelicals to write Rudy Giuliani off for being pro-choice in favor of electing a pro-choice militant like Hillary Clinton, who many of these same folks view as Satan incarnate.  It just doesn’t make any sense.

Interesting News

As a "Breeder" I am in full support of Homosexuals being able to have a legal marriage in our "Free" Country.  The Christians love to say God this and God that says it is a bad and nasty thing.  Guess what folks!  Homosexuals can still have their "marriage" blessed in a Church and by God with out a legal document! Breeders do it all the time if they are against supporting Uncle Sam and the IRS!  It is called having an ordained minister say a prayer or two and a blessing over the union and your done with it! They aren't fighting saying shit about it being a church marriage.   Homosexuals are wanting the protection they have a right to via this country they are citizens in to have a LEGAL and BINDING marriage in the eyes of Uncle Sam and his buddy IRS!  And Conservetives who don't know how to keep State and Church Seperate keep interfering!  My Gods!  Does the gov't and the IRS NOT realize how much more taxes they could collect if they would just legalize Same Sex Marriage?  The Gays and Lesbians can bitch right along with us married breeders about being Middle Class and Broke because Uncle Sam and the IRS have taken all our money and have given it to the folks who are rich and those who make on the lower end of the middle class scale and get Earned Income Credit!  All because we are LEGALLY MARRIED and have kids too boot!

Okay what brought that last little bit on was the fact I had to rub my eyes, do a double take, and then hurry up and look out side for pigs flying!  The state of Iowa, yes, I said IOWA!  The State of Iowa for a short period of time allowed same sex folks to apply and receive marriage licenses this past week or so!  Before they shut down the application line because it is now headed to the Superme Court in Iowa of course to see if it is all legal like!  This is thanks to a lovely couple who attempted to apply for a marriage license and were denied because they were both male.  They sued and they won!  Which managed to get them their marriage license!  Good for them!  And they paid the extra fee to waive the 3 day waiting period so they could be married the same day they received their license and before it was appealed to the IA Supreme Court!  Guess what folks!  These gentlemen are officially married in the State of IA!  Up to a dozen or so gay and lesbian couples managed to get their marriage licenses before the application line was put on hold!  Yay for them!

Now why this suprises me is Iowa is a conservative republic down to the river to be baptised state!  I don't care what religion you are these folks are Jesus FREAKS!  I should know I lived in that screwed up state for 4 years and married a man from that state!  It explains alot about my hubby if you know how Iowa is.  Anyway, it is suprising but it isn't!  Iowa is one of the few states that is known to stand up for Civil Rights.  And we aren't talking about convicts' rights to sue their victims, illegal aliens rights to sue US citizens, or anything stupid like that but actual in your face insulted someone's Civil Rights!  In all the news articles that have been circulating I have only seen 1 person say something negative about the same sex marriage in Iowa!  And that was the Governer!  Guess what he just lost himself a rather large Gay and Lesbian voting populance!  We have Gay Farmers and let me tell you they live in some nice ass homes in the midwest and half the time have more money then us Breeders!:D

I hope the IA Supereme Court denies the appeal and lets the Same Sex Marriage Stand!  For the simple reason it will open up SD and NE's Gay and Lesbian folks into getting married!  A lot of SD and NE folks get married on the IA side already because they like the area, they need to be in the city to have a reception hall, or they have family!  And guess what!  As of now, I am more than happy to work out a deal for anyone wanting a blessed union of two folks!  Regardless of who what where!  If that law passes fully I can honestly say I will be bombarded with requests!  And I hope my friends Bill and Billy are the first to ask me!

Freedom of Choice Act

I have been hammering on H.R. 1592 that would give to Left Wing bureaucrats and authorities to intimidate or jail Christians for Free Speech; i.e. if the House Bill went through the Senate and found the President’s desk.

The President has promised to veto any such legislation.

Thanks to a friend forwarding an e-newsletter from Jay Sekulow’s American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ), I have discovered the Lefties in Congress have proposed legislation to undermine the Supreme Court’s judicial decision that eliminates partial birth abortion. The legislation is called the Freedom of Choice Act.

“Freedom of Choice” is Pro-Choice feminist double-speak for murdering babies in a woman’s womb. Pro-Choicers have desensitized themselves by adopting medical terms for babies that have not been born with the word “fetus.”

The word “fetus” gives anti-Christian moralists the mindset that an unborn baby is merely an internal organ like the heart or the brain.

Jay Sekulow reports that the President of the United States has assured him he would veto such legislation if it (also) came by his desk.

Here is the ACLJ petition that is adding power to the voice of the Right. SIGN IT!

Supreme Court Decision and the Fabric of Christian Morality

Christians that believe in the principles that America was founded upon also believe one of those principles is that the Hand of God was instrumental in the creation of the United States of America.

Many Secular Humanists enjoy pointing out that many of the Founding Fathers were Deist rather than Christian. And you know what, from what I have read the Secular Humanists may be largely correct.

On the other hand the conclusions extrapolated from the Secular Humanists are way off base. The Deists continually pointed to Christian morality as the foundation for the rule of law and a moral society for an emerging America. Further more the American Revolution and subsequent founding of Constitutional government is sandwiched between the two Great Awakenings of Christian revival in America. So indeed, Christian morality is the foundational moral fabric of the United States of America.

I believe the Hand of God was instrumental in guiding the Supreme Court of the United States of America in its 5-4 vote to uphold the ending of partial birth abortions. I believe the Hand of God will eventually influence the revoking Roe VS Wade.

The Pro-Life Revolution is Beginning?

Abortion is probably the central political-religious debate in America since abolitionism and prohibition. The politics of abolition was settled after much American blood was shed with the Union armies defeating the secessionist Confederate armies. Prohibition passed by Constitutional Amendment then was abolished by Constitutional Amendment.

The stage may be set to begin eroding Roe VS Wade with the recent 5 to 4 Supreme Court decision to uphold the ban on partial birth abortion. I doubt the abortion issue will lead to a Civil War; however the more the Supreme Court erodes pro-choice/death proponents of abortion the greater the chance Congressmen will allow the people to decide via the Amendment process.

I think the Secular Humanists and Leftists fear just how much Americans entrust in Christian values (maybe not practices) rather than moral relativity. At this point it is a political propaganda war; however if the people decide I believe Christian morality will win the day.

If Christianity wins on abortion, homosexuality will be the next topic of the Amendment process. Powerful (moneyed) Leftists and homosexuals groups are vicious on that issue. The real fight for Christian morality will begin in the next stage.
