Relayed from Libby:
NBC refunds advertisers as ratings plunge
You wanna know why ratings are slipping, NBC? Because you don't pay your damn writers, and loyal fans of quality TV programming who support those writers are boycotting watching your network until the writers receive fair compensation. I'm not stupid and I'd like to think the majority of America isn't either. I refuse to watch some shit-tastic reality show just because there's nothing else on TV. I need frivolity, flirting, Christmas parties, teapots, and inappropriate remarks. Stuff that comes from good writing!
Maybe you just need to suck it up, take your thumbs out of your asses, get out your checkbook, and give the writers some money so they'll do their job.
If you pay the writers, they'll come back and start banging out ideas for quality, scripted episodes of our favorite shows, we'll end the boycott and start tuning in again, your ratings will go up, and those advertisers will come back.
Elementary, my dear NBC.
