Stonehenge @ MindSay
Yet another reason why I love Craig Ferguson.
"We're afraid you've got vernal equinox!"
"Oooh, oooh, I'm gonna dance around my henge!"
"My henge, my henge, my lovely, lovely LADY HENGE!"
Oh, those funny Druids taking off their clothes all the time... Well, I guess you'd get warm once you're not the only one naked dancing around! This has me laughing all day long. Have a giggle on me and hug me with your smile.
StonehengeSo it’ s not even the European Bronze Age yet.
You and your Druid friends are kickin’ over
a big pottery crock of mead, and someone trots out
the plans for an absolutely magnificent henge over
in Salisbury. Very special.
One thing leads to another,
songs are sung,
promises are made
— and pretty soon,
you’ve got a cushy construction job.
Problem is, those darn stones are pretty heavy.
How are you going to move and position monoliths
without metal or modern equipment?
You’d ask the Egyptians for advice,
but they all speak in cartoons.
Wally Wallington has a strange hobby:
he moves heavy stuff. By himself.
Stuff like barns.
Wallington has discovered what he believes
is the incredibly simple secret of how
the ancients managed to build Stonehenge.
He demonstrates in this video.
Got a couple pebbles?
Akila took me to visit one of her friends who lives in Vigan and works as a school teacher. We went to take her some of the leftover couscous. We made way too much! Vigan is not very far away from Montpellier, only one hour, but it is high in the mountains and it was about ten degrees colder than Montpellier!
When we arrived at Francoise’s house (Akila’s friend) it was high in the mountains and had huge windows overlooking the town. It was amazing. Francoise drove us over to a canyon which is called Cirque de Navacelles. It’s a huge canyon that was formed by a river but now has a lot of houses and hotels at the bottom. It was so beautiful, but it was kind of hazy so I didn’t get great pictures.
We drove down to the bottom and went walking around there. Then we drove over to this other place called Cromlech which is a circle of stones like Stonehenge only a bit smaller.
Francoise told us that Vigan dates back to the Middle Ages and there are a lot of things in the county that are original from that time period. It was really neat to see. When we were outside visiting Cromlech, Eva, Francoise’s daughter, found these little red berries that if opened up are really itchy.
I can vouch for that because she opened one to show me and it got on my hand a little bit. It itched for the rest of the night! On the way back, Francoise stopped off at her school to show me a classroom at an elementary school.
I thought it was really interesting to see their school since my little brother is still in elementary school. I thought it was really cute and welcoming. Overall, I loved Vigan and think they are really lucky to live so close to those places. I would visit them all the time if I had the chance.
Who Knew? There is a plaster re-creation of stonehenge in Texas.
I went by it on my last vacation. Just for fun I have been playing with the colors on the pic's. It looks neat! It is not to scale but you can walk up to it and in it. Worth a detour!

The greatest virtue you can have
comes from following only the Tao;
which takes a form that is intangible and evasive.
Even though the Tao is intangible and evasive,
we are able to know it exists.
Intangible and evasive, yet it has a manifestation.
Secluded and dark, yet there is a vitality within it.
It's vitality is very genuine.
Within it we can find order.
Since the beginning of time, the Tao has always existed.
It is beyond existing and not existing .
How do I know where creation comes from?
I look inside myself and see it.
Howdy Howdy all! Well before leaving Fredricksburg we trucked on over to the Wildseed Farm to check out the fields. Here is the link to the farm.....

Onward to Hunt, Texas and Stonehenge........
Isnt it mysterious......
Ummm I think that this particular sacrifice is ill-suited to say the least! LOL!
Okay this was taken at a Resort in Hunt, Texas called the Last Resort. They let us take a look around because they thought we might wanna book a stay.....this was nice...
But this took my breath away! I cant believe how much of Texas I have missed!
That is all for now folks. Next stop is the Cave Without a Name!!!!! How about some poetry...here goes....
Venus Transiens
Tell me,
Was Venus more beautiful
Than you are,
When she topped
The crinkled waves,
Drifting shoreward
On her plaited shell?
Was Botticelli's vision
Fairer than mine;
And were the painted rosebuds
He tossed his lady,
Of better worth
Than the words I blow about you
To cover your too great loveliness
As with a gauze
Of misted silver?
For me,
You stand poised
In the blue and buoyant air,
cinctured by bright winds,
Treading the sunlight.
And the waves which precede you
Ripple and stir
The sands at my feet.--Amy Lowell
