Top 10 Cover Songs of All Time
This is according to the makers of that fine birdcage liner at the New York Post:

1 - STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN by Dolly Parton (Originally by Led Zeppelin)

2 - BABY GOT BACK by Jonathan Coulton (Originally by Sir Mix-A-Lot)

3 - HAZY SHADE OF WINTER by The Bangles (Originally by Simon & Garfunkel)

4 - NOTHING COMPARES 2 U by Sinead O'Conner (Originally by Prince)

5 - SHOWROOM DUMMIES by Senor Coconut (Originally by Kraftwerk)

6 - SMOOTH CRIMINAL by Alien Ant Farm (Originally by Michael Jackson)

7 - PERSONAL JESUS by Johnny Cash (Originally by Depeche Mode)

8 - AGAINST ALL ODDS by The Postal Service (Originally by Phil Collins)

9 - EASY (LIKE SUNDAY MORNING) by Faith No More (Originally by The Commodores)

10 - TAINTED LOVE by Soft Cell (Originally by Gloria Jones)

Some of these choices are kinda as far as I'm concerned.
What is so special about Faith No More's version of Easy? Coulton's Baby got Back is novel but not something that should top any lists. I don't care who is is singing Showroom Dummies because that song sucks ass.
And I'd have picked Johnny Cash's version of HURT above his version of Personal Jesus.

The Post does get props on recognizing the greatness of Dolly Parton's Stairway. She killed that song in the best way possible.

Well, seems like Satan's a noshow..
Well guys, another apocalypse has come and gone... Not so much as a hint of evil was in the air! Though I did shout DOOM when it hit 6:06:6 on the clock... However, the world did not end, and I am very disappointed. For the occasion, I even listened to Stairway to Heaven backwards to hear the satanic message. Oh well, another day, another breath.

This is your host EvilSnack,

(no subject)

There's a lady who's sure

All that glitters is gold

And she's buying a stairway to heaven

When she gets there she knows

If the stores are all closed

With a word she can get what she came for

And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a sign on the wall

But she wants to be sure

Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings

In the tree by the brook

There's a songbird who sings

Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven

Oooh, it makes me wonder

Oooh, makes me wonder

There's a feeling I get

When i look to the west

And my spirit is crying for leaving

In my thoughts I have seen

Rings of smoke through the trees

And the voices of those who stand looking

Oooh, it makes me wonder

Oooh, really makes me wonder

And it's whispered that soon

If we all call the June

Then the piper will lead us to reason

And a new day will dawn

For those who stand long

And the forests will echo with laughter

Oh ooh Oh ooh Oh ooh Oh ooh Oh

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow

Don't be alarmed now

It's just a spring-clean for the May Queen

Yes there are two paths you can go by

But in the long run

There's still time to change the road you're on

And it makes me wonder

AAAAaaaahhhh haaaaaaa hooooooo

You're head is hummin' and it won't go

In case you don't know

The piper's callin you to join him

Dear lady can you hear the wind blow

And did you know

Your stairway lies on the whispering wind

AND AS WE WIND ON DOWN THE ROAD

OUR SHADOWS TALLER THAN OUR SOUL

THERE WALKS A LADY WE ALL KNOW

WHO SHINES WHITE LIGHT AND WANTS IT SHOWN

HOW EVERYTHING STILL TURNS TO GOLD

AND IF YOU LISTEN VERY HARD

THE TUNE WILL COME TO YOU AT LAST

WHEN ALL ARE ONE AND ONE IS ALL

TO BE A ROCK AND NOT TO ROOOOOOOLLLLLLLL

Well, I hope you all took the time to read through these lyrics and ponder the meaning of each and every line.  Why you ask, no reason.  I mostly wanted to waste your time but another reason was that since I just left my first reply on the mighty Doughboy's blog I figured he'd stroll in to see what I have to offer.  And what better I ask you than the complete (as I hear them) lyrics of the mighty Led Zeppelin's classic, and yet to be equalled "Stairway to Heaven?"  Riddle me that, sir.

P.S.  Hehe, I love those suggested tags.  Keep em coming mindsay.

Heaven & Hell
Well, I'm totally a believer, and a hardcore Christian and stuff, but that doesn't mean I can't have questions right? Someone once told me that God can handle questioning so I guess I'm not afraid about that part...anyways, this question is about Heaven and Hell...I never have just one question, though, it's more like a whole slew of jumbled thoughts that I need someone to decipher for me!! I know, I'm weird. lol

So...Heaven. Hell. I know they exist, I totally believe they do - I believe every single thing in God's Word. (Why?? Because it's God's WORD and he never lies.) OK, so here's the question part. How do you get there? Where are they? Like, I've always imagined for Heaven (like you'd see in TV or something) your spirit would float up with wings and a white robe, and a halo and all that and just keep going up and up until it was a whole bunch of clouds and stuff. But, knowing that beyond the stratosphere there's no weather at all...and if you've been in an airplane, you know there's no Heaven over there. lol So where is it?? I guess only God knows and the people that are in it so far. Heck - the possibilities are endless. It might be in a whole different universe, or dimension, or some crazy stuff like that. lol I'm too young and confused for this stuff, though. (My same questions applied to Hell, if you were wondering...but Hell isn't nice to think about at all so I'll just keep my entry at this length, thanks. :P
