Squash @ MindSay
I thought I would let you all see how my garden's have been growing with all that rain that we have been getting for a month. The first will be the flower garden and then the vegetable garden.
At the top from left to right is, balloon flowers, galdious, red lilly, dasiy, white easter lilly's, yucka pant, and then my veg garden, peas in a row out front, cucumber's, tomatoes okra on far right and the whole garden at left center and of course all this could not be possible if not for my gardner Mr. B. What a man!!!!.
I hope you enjoyed all the pictures and I so much wanted all of you to see what I have been up to. I did get over heated last Sunday so this Saturday I took it easy and let Mr. B move some plants around that have gotten so big that they have out grown their place.
Now gardner's let me see your garden's. It doesen't matter if it is in the ground or in pots on the patio or even it they are inside. If you are growing it I want to see it. Now is time to show your stuff.
I want to see Pic.s
Have a great weekend and remember I am waiting.
The rain's have stopped long enough for us to get the garden out. Last week my husband as you can see tilled up the ground just before the rain moved back in on us. The face he is making is that he really, really, wanted to do this job. He is such a great guy. We did get some plants, planted before it down poured. The tomatoes, peppers and okra. Then Wednesday it stopped long enough for us to get the squash in, then back to rain. Now today we planted the carrotts and peas and I started broccolli from seed last week in some small pots and they all came up so and doing well so far. I well be able to plant them in the garden in a couple weeks.
So yeah!!! we finally got our garden in. It was a very nice day today. We had some clouds that came in and for awhile we thought it was just going to down pour but the winds came in and blew the clouds out. Yes it was a very nice day.I dead headed some of the flower's so it will promote more growth. And I found out the ants love the humingbird feeder. So towmorrow I will be cleaning it out and putting in new food for the humingbirds. Darrell has said there is something you can put where the hook is that ants don't like. I will have to investigate the matter. I haven't seen any humingbirds around lately, the last time I saw one was around the first of May. But maybe some are still hanging around here.
Well I hope everyone has a lovely day on Sunday. Enjoy the day. And God Bless you.
I was playing a game of squash against the boss last night (the entire office goes). He sent me running from the left side of the court to the right side to return the ball. The ball could not have been more than 300mm (1') from the right hand wall and I had to hit the ball at pace.
I got the return in, before careening into the wall. Luckily I have a bit of padding, by being a slightly overweight bastard, because I hit the wall with a sickening crash, and bounced more than a meter off the wall, landing in a human puddle, my glasses dislodged, my racket out of hand.
The boss got to my return, and just to tease me he hit it so that it landed near me lying on the ground. I was able to grab my raquet in the wrong hand hit the ball and hit a good winner.
However I couldn't sleep last night, because every time I moved it was like.....
"Ouch, that's a bruise"
Ah well.
Okay, let's see. It's Sunday night. I'm not studying, which is probably a bad idea because it's due this Thursday. I haven't rowed a boat in almost two weeks. I haven't kept very good track of any of my friends.
On the positive side, I've spent a lot of hours in the lab, and I've been rewarded by seeing some neat Physics work as advertised. I've taken the high school freshmen I coach through the first week of their rowing careers, which is arguably the weirdest since they're still learning the language. They have some bad habits, but they're developing them together, which means I should be able to squash them together. Don't squash the freshmen. Squash the habit.
I have thirteen framed photos and two unframed ones in my room. No, really. One is about to be mailed as a gift. One I sold to a friend and is also getting ready to go in the mail. One of the unframed ones is extra. The other twelve are going to Acoustic Java as the next gallery for their walls. I've never exhibited any of my work before. I've really only ever taken it seriously as something to enjoy for myself. Most, but not all, of the prints in the gallery have appeared in previous entries. We'll see how this goes.
Oh, and I spent three hours yesterday with Colin replacing some boat racks. If you ever put something together with steel girders that might be taken apart, do not ever use an impact wrench at full torque. We had to cut through the head of a 3/4-inch bolt with a hacksaw to get it loose -- while standing on a ladder.

Andy
Yesterday in Vocal Jazz, Andrea was eating an acorn squash. I really love the colours in an acorn squash; they're so pleasant and warm but so deliciously autumny! Anyway, I guess I was influenced when I came up with this character. Lately, I've wanted to draw another really funky character. Unfortunately, most of my funky characters end up nude women with impossible anatomical problems or living hair.
I'm not sure what's up with the hand, though. I think they were supposed to be dragony or something. I wanted it to be freaky, but methinks I got carried away.
I think Lexus inspired this drawing. I'm sure that, as I was coming up with reasons to draw, one of these reasons was You might impress Lexus! Yeah, I know... This thing is getting worse.
I wrote a pretty passionate journal entry elsewhere. I'm sure just about anyone at school who read these would be able to figure out who Lexus and I are. I just hope we've all matured a bit. ...Of course, it's very improbable that Lexus will ever find out about me by himself. My friend, Neek, is "close" to Lexus (they compete in their intellectual ways...).
Neek says Lexus rarely uses his computer--it's riddled with problems, apparently. Note to self: I must never talk to Lexus about computers, because I know I'll end up telling him to upgrade, or advising how to care for his computer--which might lead to a feasible relationship with him, or at least a good conversation.
Anyway... That's enough about Lexus. If I do rant about him any more today, it'll have to be in a more artistic form--I've used up all my typical teenage journal-angst.
Delightfully offbeat and strangely buoyant,
